The Opportunity
We are seeking a Paralegal – Discovery Specialist to join our firm. Within this position, you will be responsible for providing high-level support throughout all stages of discovery by working directly with case teams, Legal Technology, vendors, and clients. This position will be based in our New York office and has a hybrid working schedule. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
As the Paralegal – Discovery Specialist you will:
- Provide support throughout all phases of litigation with a focus on discovery workflows, including document review, production, and depositions.
- Communicate and coordinate with internal Legal Technology team, vendors, attorneys, and clients regarding document collection, data processing, review, and production of documents.
- Assist with preparation of privilege logs.
- Monitor and track all document review activities, provides regular status updates, and metrics to case teams.
- Conduct complex searching tasks in various electronic discovery platforms.
- Develop creative solutions to utilize technology to work more efficiently.
- Assist with complex tracking and data analysis projects.
- Assist with preparation of chronologies and manage supporting documents and facts.
- Assist with preparation for interviews, depositions, hearings, trials, and/or client meetings.
- Utilize litigation support databases (e.g., Relativity) to organize, search, and analyze large volumes of electronic data.
- Leverage litigation support databases to manage case data, perform searches, and generate reports.
- Mentor junior paralegals to build technical skills related to discovery projects.
- Ensure case files are maintained within Department-approved protocols and case management systems, and seek to improve workflows regarding storage and recall of electronic and paper files.
- Maintain the integrity of client data and properly organize and manage electronic and paper files.
- Assists case teams and paralegals across offices.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to ensure seamless coordination and to facilitate effective working relationships with others.
- Manage Firm resources responsibly.
- Comply with and understand Firm operation, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working on complex eDiscovery matters
- Demonstrated project management experience, preferably in the context of eDiscovery
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Ability to fluently navigate various electronic databases and document management systems, experience with Relativity required
- Working knowledge of litigation support tools for deposition transcripts and exhibit management, chronology preparation and deadline tracking
- Understands various litigation support applications with the ability to use technology to provide creative and efficient solutions
- Knowledge of Firm operation, policies, and procedures
- Ability to assume responsibility for assigned projects and tasks
- Ability to assume leadership role on case teams
- Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates close attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
- Flexibility to travel as required
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of five years’ experience in litigation-based paralegal or legal technology-focused role

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
Salary Details
$115,000 - $125,000
