Job Details:

The Staff Counsel position at Tyson Foods requires a highly competent eDiscovery attorney with a proven ability to communicate effectively and respond promptly to both internal and external clients. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to advise and influence clients, including senior leaders within and outside the Law Department. This role necessitates an in-depth knowledge of eDiscovery processes and norms, along with a general understanding of the laws surrounding eDiscovery issues. The Staff Counsel will be part of the Law Business Operations group within the Tyson Foods Law Department, with a primary focus on eDiscovery, and will work closely with the Senior Counsel for Discovery.

Key Responsibilities:

· Advise attorneys in other groups within the Law Department, as well as outside counsel, on eDiscovery-related issues.

· Collaborate with support teams, including IT Security, Records Retention, and Human Resources, as well as business units, on eDiscovery matters such as issuing Legal Holds, preserving data, collecting data, using various tools for document review and presentation, and defensibly deleting data.

· Develop and refine eDiscovery policies and procedures, aiming to position Tyson as an industry leader in eDiscovery practices.

· Handle day-to-day tasks such as data collection and processing and assist in developing search terms.

· Engage in strategic initiatives with potential enterprise-wide impacts.

Requirements:

Education:

· Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

· Licensed to practice law in at least one state.

Experience:

· Minimum of three years of eDiscovery-related legal experience in-house, with a law firm, or with an alternative legal services provider (ALSP).

· Experience counseling clients on eDiscovery and related subjects.

· Extensive experience with major eDiscovery review platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, Reveal).

Computer Skills:

· Basic computer skills.

Communication Skills:

· Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory Skills:

· Individual contributor role with no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.

· Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Special Skills:

· Team player with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

· Ability to communicate effectively and respond to clients in a timely manner.

· Capability to provide expert advice in the subject area to attorneys.

· Collaborative and flexible approach, seeking consensus when possible.

Travel:

· Minimal travel required, varying with workload.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Advanced degrees such as a Master of Business Administration or Master in Computer Science are preferred.

· Over three years of providing consultative advice to clients, either externally or internally.

· Experience as an Administrator using RelativityOne and/or Microsoft Purview for eDiscovery.

· Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
