Job Description:
Epiq's continuing innovation offers opportunity to work with exciting new products and technologies. To ensure the ongoing protection of Epiq's Systems and our clients' data, we are hiring for a senior leader to oversee our security architecture and engineering team. This role will report directly to the CISO and is responsible for leading multiple teams that design, engineer, and deploy various cybersecurity technologies and controls within our environment. This position works closely with the security operations, security governance, corporate compliance and software development teams to build defensive capabilities that empower ongoing innovation.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Manage strategic initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, automation, and effectiveness across Epiq's security controls infrastructure
Work directly with software development leaders across Epiq's business lines to identify and implement tailored controls that support the latest innovative products being developed, often leveraging cloud native technologies
Work collaboratively across both the cybersecurity team and the IT organization to define, design, implement and support cybersecurity infrastructure and controls.
Provide strategic leadership and vision that drives consultative and skillful support to various strategic projects across both IT and the business units.
Assess the efficacy of current security controls and identify improvements that will add additional security capability, cost savings, and/or automation efficiency .
Define meaningful metrics and measures of success, providing regular reporting to the CISO, IT Leaders and Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
Support efforts of the Cloud Security Posture Management program to identify, assess, and report on security controls implementation across critical cloud assets.
Respond to requests for support with customer inquiries, audits, and other compliance discovery.
Develop and share expertise related to Epiq's use of Generative AI both through in-house developed and cloud native technologies
Learn about Epiq's product offerings and gain greater understanding of core business lines in e-Discovery, Class-Action, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field (Preferred but not Required)
Experience: 7+ years of experience in information security, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
Skills:
Proven ability to set strategic direction and provide tactical management ins support of an overall cybersecurity program.
Experience working in a hybrid IT environment, designing and implementing security controls that span both multiple cloud and on-premise datacenter infrastructure
Experience with technologies such as Zero-Trust Network Access solutions, Microsoft Azure security tools (Sentinel, Entra, etc.), Privileged Access and IAM solutions, SIEM log optimization
Ability to lead geographically diverse remot teams effectively, providing strong engagement and empowering independent work.
Knowledge of common security frameworks and guidance such as the NIST CSF, 800-144, 800-53, OWASP Top 10 and Cloud-Native Application Top 10, ISO 27001, etc.
Demonstrated ability to build collaboration and credibility with resources across the organization who have different or potentially conflicting goals and priorities
Skilled in defining and reporting against critical metrics and key performance indicators
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively to peers and members of the leadership team
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and effectively explain deeply technical concepts to individuals without background in those knowledge areas
Capability to understand the dynamics of a larger enterprise organization and navigate challenging discussions effectively #LI-KS1 #LI-Remote
Certifications: Security related certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) not required but highly desirable .
The Compensation range for this role is 200,000 to 245,000.00 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus.
