POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Paralegal or Senior legal Analyst will be responsible for varied work assignments for the Legal Division, including but not limited to providing consultative support to service offices; legal research and policy support; incident management of in-house claims; and assistance with third-party claims such as complaints, payor inquiries and regulatory investigations of any nature. The Senior Paralegal or Senior Legal Analyst collaborates with other internal support offices to accomplish these tasks and must have strong organizational and communication skills to facilitate their workload through resolution. This position is differentiated from the Junior Paralegal or Legal coordinator role through a demonstration of one or more of the following: subject matter expertise, ownership and accountability for complex assignments, and the ability to work in a supervisory capacity leading, coaching, and training others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Four (4) year college degree.
- 7+ years of prior experience in a law firm or corporate law department preferably in the fields of medical malpractice, professional/general liability claim management, and/or employment claims management.
- In-house environment and law firm experience preferred.
- For Senior Paralegal, paralegal certification is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft computer products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive and Adobe Suite.
- Have a working knowledge of medical and legal terminology.

- Ability to effectively multitask and set/shift priorities.
- Work semi-automatously, supporting multiple team members with minimal supervision.

- Advanced understanding of Legal Division responsibilities including but not limited to M&A transactions, lease agreements, business agreements, compliance programs, policy support, incident reporting, loss prevention and liability claims management.
- Strong understanding of Legal Division electronic tools including but not limited to Contract Lifecycle Management, matter management, legal intake and eBilling.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to independently draft professional written communications.
- Motivated to learn and take on more responsibilities in this role.
- Experience using risk management software such as Riskonnect.
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and respond to legal and nonlegal professionals, and senior leaders.
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

- Support in-house colleagues, including Legal Division, Finance, People & Leadership, IT, Compliance, Payor Contracting, Policy, M&A, Procurement, and others.

- Assist with the management of litigation matters, including liability and employment-related claims.
- Assume responsibilities for incident management, loss prevention, and litigation claims management, as needed.
- Design and develop KPIβs and track/report key metrics for individual and departmental performance.
- Manage response to and perform legal research and analysis as requested for complex matters involving serious risk (e.g., matters involving substantial risk of adverse publicity or reputational damage, class actions, etc.).
- Preparation of financial and compliance reports.
- Preparation of responses to information requests, records, subpoenas, and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Assist with legal holds, document preservation, and eDiscovery.
- Assist in project management including supporting the Legal Division and business functions with projects, presentations, due diligence, integration, budgeting, and expense reporting.
- Support specialty areas (e.g., privacy, contracts, litigation, antitrust, corporate governance) or functional business clients (e.g., support oices, Finance, Clinical, etc.) as assigned by manager; span will typically be larger than Paralegal or Legal Coordinator
- Conduct legal research using online and other research tools.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operations processes and efficiency initiatives.
- Demonstrate solid performance or exceed performance standards in key job dimensions/attributes as defined on the Performance Appraisal for Office Staff.

- Base Salary: $75,000 - $105,000/ year depending on qualifications
