Zillow Group is seeking a Records and Information Manager to join the DITC team, reporting to the Director, Information Governance. Working in close partnership with business, technology, legal and compliance partners, this role is responsible for managing a record and data retention program that aligns with Zillow’s Data and Information Governance objectives. Contribute to the Data and Information Governance strategy in the area of records and data retention, including record identification, retention requirements, and identifying and implementing improvements to enhance and scale the program
Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of the retention program, including maintaining auditable policies, processes and documentation
Collaborate with partners and the engineering team to build policies, standards, processes, and procedures to support retention, preservation and destruction requirements resulting in enforceable implementation
Develop and implement effective continuous monitoring with the goal of ensuring record and data retention activities are performed effectively and consistently across the enterprise
Oversee and audit for appropriate retention and destruction practices consistent with retention schedules and requirements
Contribute to team compliance report generation of metrics by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
Communicate regularly with partners to ensure status shared and risks and blockers are appropriately addressed
Identify retention-related risks and communicate to DITC Director
Maintain legal and regulatory compliance by researching and communicating applicable state and federal retention requirements to team and partners and enhancing policies, control framework, and processes as necessary
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Minimum 7 years experience in records and data retention
Knowledge of financial services record retention requirements at the federal, state, and local level, including eDiscovery
Strong project management skills and the ability to influence others and hold self accountable to meet target dates and keep organized records
Strong interpersonal skills including experience building positive relationships with partners
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
Working knowledge, including direct user experience, of retention technologies preferred.
Certified Records Manager (CRM), CRM candidate, or Information Governance Professional (IGP) preferred.
