Job Description:
Summary:
The role involves writing, automating, and executing functional test cases for new software enhancements to ensure full application test coverage. Key tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams to address software issues, testing APIs using tools like Postman and Swagger, and maintaining test automation frameworks. Additionally, the position requires troubleshooting application logs, building database queries, and ensuring timely resolution of failed test cases
Job Responsibilities
- Write functional test cases for new enhancements and subsequently automate them
- Ensure overall application test coverage
- Understand requirements and provide estimations
- Work closely with software engineers, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts to triage reported software issues
- Testing API using various tools like Postman and Swagger
- Identify and automate test cases to improve the automation coverage
- Ensure failed automation test cases are promptly corrected/addressed
- Analyze application logs and investigate root cause for reported issues
- Build database queries to investigate data related issues
- Execute both automation and manual test cases and record test outcomes
- Keep repositories and test practices updated with the latest industry developments
- Design and develop automation testing strategies and build automated testing frameworks
Qualifications and Skills
- 5-8 years of experience in QA
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working on Selenium with C#
- Testing experience on PowerApps applications
- Understanding of SDLC and STLC
- Should have basic to advanced SQL skills
- Should have used any of the following Frameworks: Selenium, SpecFlow, TestNG, Data Driven, Keyword driven related Frameworks
- Strong functional testing knowledge and concepts
- Familiar with Database access using tools to review test results
- Experience in preparing detailed test cases, executing them and reporting defects
- Should have experience working in Agile-Scrum process
- Knowledge on tools such as Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS), MTM (Microsoft Test Manager), Jenkins or similar, preferred
- Experience working with Git
- Experience on Performance testing is a plus
- Good communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work separate issues in a fast paced & dynamic company environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction or as part of a team
- High energy, proactive and approachable personality who enjoys solving a diverse set of problems
- Proven problem-solving abilities and creative thinking
- Have an attention to detail
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering streams
