Are you looking to join an international patent litigation team that handles highly complex and critically important litigations involving GSK's most highly valuable innovations? We are seeking an experienced Patent Litigation Coordination Paralegal with a background in patent litigation (including Hatch-Waxman/ANDA, BPCIA and/or traditional litigation) and significant project coordination experience. 

The role will assist GSK’s in-house Patent Litigators in all traditional aspects of case development and management.  In addition to patent litigation paralegal support, responsibilities include assisting with law firm engagements, coordinating teamwork flow, and managing budgets. This role requires an individual with strong project management skills, who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. The role reports directly to GSK’s VP, Intellectual Property, Head of Patent Litigation.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Oversight and project management of case files and logistics of patent litigation from pre-complaint through appeal.
  • Assist with all stages of litigation, including witness interviews, document collections, reviewing and summarizing documents, and managing document management systems in coordination with litigation support.
  • Assist the litigation team with retrieval of patents, prior art, and file histories.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Manage all aspects of eDiscovery/document processes, including collection, tracking, and quality control with minimal supervision.
  • Assist the litigation team with the management and preparation of document productions, including significant experience with third-party tools for searching, data promotion, export, and reporting.
  • Maintain case files, ensuring that all documents are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage court docket calendar and provide case status updates.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, time-management, investigative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist VP, Intellectual Property, Head of Patent Litigation with budgeting and creating reports for Finance.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years' experience years of practical experience as a litigation paralegal/project manager.
  • Understanding and experience with electronic filings and familiarity with Federal and Local court rules.
  • Significant experience and facility with litigation document review databases, case management databases, and e-discovery software.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Good written communication, organizational, and computer skills. Good interpersonal and verbal skills required.  Able to function within team-based organization.
  • Able to prioritize and decide appropriate course of actions.  Effective at implementing decisions. 
  • Experience in Hatch-Waxman/ANDA/BPCIA litigation is strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with legal engagements and budget management and reporting.
  • Experience with common legal research platforms such as Westlaw and Lexis.
  • Experience with United States Patent and Trademark Office Post Grant Proceedings and/or International Trade Commission 337 Investigations is a plus.
