Responsibilities:
- Assisting attorneys with complex commercial litigation matters
- Collection, organization of, and management of case evidence and other materials, including electronic databases
- Reviewing, coding, organizing, and preparing document productions
- Drafting pleadings, other court papers, and discovery documents for attorney use
- Collection and maintenance of key document collections and witness materials
- Research court procedures, materials in related cases, and other investigation materials regarding cases, witnesses, and experts
- Trial preparation and support
- Communicating with clients, experts, and other third parties
- Electronic court filing (state and federal), preparation of materials for same; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a commercial litigation paralegal, Colorado preferred
- Construction litigation experience is a plus
- A bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate
- Previous law firm experience and/or in-house paralegal experience
- Knowledge of civil litigation rules and procedures, including those regarding court filings
- Superior organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several projects to completion on a deadline
- Conscientious, thoughtful, and proactive approach to tasks and workload management, including establishing priorities, working independently, and taking initiative when appropriate
- Proficiency in the standard collection of Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency with collection, production, and management of e-discovery, including substantial experience with litigation support databases (e.g., Relativity, DISCO, Everlaw, etc.); and
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with all levels within the firm and externally with clients and other professional advisors, as needed.
