Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, proactive Paralegal with 2+ years of litigation experience to support our Midtown Manhattan litigation practice. In this role, you will work directly with partners and associates on complex state and federal cases from inception through trial or resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Case & File Management: Maintain, organize, and manage physical and electronic case files, pleadings, and discovery logs across state and federal jurisdictions.
- Discovery & Document Production: Assist with the drafting, review, and response to discovery requests (Interrogatories, Requests for Production, Subpoenas). Manage e-discovery tools, document reviews, and bates-stamping.
- Pleadings & Filings: Prepare, proofread, format, and electronically file legal documents in New York State Courts (NYSCEF) and Federal Courts (SDNY/EDNY ECF).
- Deposition & Trial Preparation: Summarize deposition transcripts, prepare witness packs, organize exhibit binders, assemble trial notebooks, and handle trial logistics.
- Docketing & Scheduling: Monitor court deadlines, maintain case calendars, schedule depositions, and coordinate court reporting and videography services.
- Legal Research & Fact Investigation: Perform basic legal research, public records searches, background checks, and factual research supporting motions and pleadings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2–5 years of paralegal experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, or product liability (NY state and federal court experience required).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate.
- Court E-Filing Mastery: Proficiency in NYSCEF and SDNY/EDNY ECF electronic filing procedures and local court rules.
- Technical Skills: Experience with legal case management software, e-discovery platforms, document management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Key Traits: High attention to detail, strong legal drafting and proofreading skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks under tight court deadlines.

- Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($65,000 – $80,000/year).
