Job Title: Paralegal
Location: Remote (Latin America)
Working Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST
Compensation: $1,800 - $2,500 USD per month (based on experience)
About the Company
Our client provides strategic, high-integrity representation for complex legal problems. The firm handles matters ranging from trial and appellate counsel to unfair competition and trademark enforcement. We pride ourselves on working "hard and smart," eschewing shortcuts in favor of rigorous, intelligent advocacy for professionals, entrepreneurs, and businesses.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a sharp, proactive Paralegal to join our lean civil litigation and appellate practice. In this high-impact, fully remote role, you won't just provide administrative support, youβll be a strategic partner in managing the entire litigation lifecycle. You will act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring every case moves forward with precision. If you thrive on autonomy and have a "sharp legal mind" for high-stakes work, you will fit right in.
The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver who enjoys the complex "puzzle" of litigation. We value team members who donβt just flag issues but bring proposed solutions to the table. If you are highly inquisitive, comfortable navigating US legal platforms, and committed to maintaining a gold standard of integrity and excellence, we want to see how your expertise can help drive our firmβs success.
Litigation Support: Assist with all phases of litigation including drafting discovery requests/responses, preparing initial disclosures, and organizing exhibits.
Client Management: Act as a primary point of contact for clients to gather necessary documents and information. You will explain the "why" behind document requests to help clients stay organized and compliant.
E-Discovery & Document Review: Conduct initial document reviews, tagging, and confidentiality checks using platforms like Goldfinch or Next Point.
Case Management: Maintain case files, track deadlines, and manage workflows within Clio and Microsoft 365.
Document Drafting: Utilize document automation tools (e.g., Tech Stocks) to generate first drafts of Texas-specific legal forms and templates.
Fact Investigation: Help organize the "who, what, when, and where" of each case to ensure the attorney is prepared for hearings and depositions.
Communication: Act as a professional point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
Must have:
A minimum of three years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or executive assistant capacity, specifically within U.S. law firm operations, with background in litigation and disputes.
Exceptional English proficiency (C1/C2). You must be comfortable speaking with US-based clients and opposing counsel.
Proficiency in Clio (or similar practice management software), E-filing (state and federal/CM-ECF), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong legal research skills (Westlaw/LexisNexis) and the ability to cite-check briefs.
A "no-shortcuts" work ethic. You must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple high-priority tasks, and maintain extreme attention to detail.
Proactive: Must be a self-starter who initiates communication and action.
Highly organized and systematic, capable of managing complex responsibilities.
Ability to work autonomously, manage projects from start to finish, and anticipate needs.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with quickly learning new legal and business technology platforms.
Nice to have:
Specific experience in Texas state courts and federal courts (Northern/Southern Districts of Texas and the Fifth Circuit) is highly preferred.
Experience in Business Litigation, Employment Law, or Personal Injury is highly preferred.
Paralegal certificate or Bachelorβs degree preferred.
Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance administrative efficiency and support legal tasks.
Bilingual (Spanish/English): While not required, Spanish fluency is a significant asset given our Texas-based client base.
