UCT is looking for a talented Sr. Systems Administrator to join us in Cebu!
The Senior Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Administrator is a technical lead responsible for the design, administration, security, and long-term optimization of the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment. This role owns tenant-level operations and plays a key role in architectural decisions, security posture improvements, and large-scale initiatives affecting identity, collaboration, and compliance.
The senior administrator operates with a high degree of autonomy, partners closely with security, infrastructure, and identity teams, and mentor's junior administrators while ensuring Microsoft 365 services remain highly available, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Tenant Ownership & Advanced Administration
- Serve as the senior technical owner of the Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related workloads.
- Lead planning and execution of tenant-wide changes, migrations, and feature rollouts.
- Define operational standards, governance models, and best practices for Microsoft 365 services.
- Proactively monitor service health, identify systemic risks, and lead root-cause analysis for complex incidents.
Identity, Access, and Security Leadership
- Architect and manage identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including MFA, Conditional Access, privileged roles, and access reviews.
- Partner with security teams to implement and mature Microsoft 365 security controls, including phishing protection, data loss prevention (DLP), retention, and eDiscovery.
- Support compliance, audit, and legal hold requirements in regulated or security-focused environments.
- Collaborate with identity platforms such as Okta for SSO, lifecycle management, and federated access (preferred experience).
Email Security & Messaging Operations
- Lead administration of Exchange Online and mail flow architecture.
- Partner with or administer Mimecast or equivalent email security platforms for spam filtering, phishing protection, continuity, archiving, and message tracing (preferred experience).
- Troubleshoot complex messaging issues spanning Microsoft 365, identity providers, and third-party security tools.
Automation, Optimization, and Scale
- Design and maintain PowerShell automation for tenant administration, reporting, access reviews, and lifecycle operations.
- Optimize Microsoft 365 licensing strategies and usage to control cost and improve efficiency.
- Evaluate new Microsoft 365 capabilities and drive adoption of features that improve collaboration, security, and user experience.
Leadership & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Act as a technical escalation point for Tier 2/3 issues related to Microsoft 365.
- Mentor and guide junior administrators and service desk teams.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, IAM, Security Operations, Compliance, HRIS, and ITSM teams.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and architectural standards.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5–8+ years of experience administering Microsoft Office 365 / Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience owning complex cloud productivity platforms at scale.
- Proven track record handling high-impact incidents, tenant-wide changes, and cross-functional initiatives.
Technical Expertise
- Deep expertise with Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity lifecycle management, and security controls.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration.
- Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance principles.
- Experience supporting hybrid or complex identity environments.
Preferred / Added Benefits
- Hands-on experience with Okta for identity federation, SSO, and user lifecycle management.
- Experience with Mimecast (or similar) for email security, continuity, and archiving.
- Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert.
- Experience with Intune, endpoint management, or Zero Trust security models.
- Exposure to regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government, or enterprise SaaS).
