Overview

The DFES Manger leads, conducts, and assists in data preservation and digital investigations in complex litigation cases by leveraging knowledge of digital forensic tools, technology and protocols related to the collection and management of electronically stored information (ESI) from a wide variety of data sources. The Manager is part of our Digital Forensics and Expert Services team and performs investigative work and data collections as part of a team with Consilio’s external clients.

Responsibilities

  • A Manager will generally have a minimum of 5-8 years’ forensics or electronic discovery experience
  • Lead and/or support scoping calls for new matters
  • Lead / Ownership of day-to-day activities for DFES projects, as assigned
  • Lead data collections calls with Client IT contacts / Counsel
  • Lead remote or onsite collections of various ESI and coordinate resources, including other team members, where required
  • Perform Forensic examination of ESI
  • Ensure that all collection documentation is complete and maintained and leverage Analyst / Associate / Consultant when possible
  • Communicate effectively with clients in a timely manner
  • Prepare and communicate deliverables to clients in a timely manner, as requested
  • Assist Project Managers in support of assigned Project
  • Act as a mentor to Analyst / Associate / Consultant
  • Ensure that all time is entered into the time capture system and expenses added into Concur, in a timely manner, for actively led matters
  • Act as first level of quality assurance, including QC verification and completion of documentation
  • Assist with Project billing, as requested by Director / Senior Director / Managing Consultant
  • Know, follow, and be able to provide guidance on departmental policies and procedures
  • ​​​​​​​Ensure timely updates to assigned application, as part of the QuickBase tracked App Owner Initiative, on a monthly basis. 

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in forensic computing or equivalent relevant experience

Minimum Experience Requirements:  

  • 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible experience in related roles

Other Requirements:  

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of evidence management
  • Proficient in the usage of forensic acquisition tools and working with various file formats
  • Ability to collect data from a wide array of ESI, including computers, mobile devices, media storage devices, servers, networks, social media, and cloud-based services.
  • Familiarity with rules of evidence, ACPO guidelines, ISO17025 and Chain of Custody
  • Good understanding of computer networking in corporate environments
  • Availability for short notice or weekend travel when necessary

 Preferred Attributes:

  • EDiscovery experience with relevant forensic collection and analysis software
  • Certifications in EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, Nuix, CFE or similar
  • SQL or scripting
