Description

Vamonos IT is seeking a seasoned M365 Subject Matter Specialist to provide expert-level guidance, configuration, and operational support for Microsoft 365 (M365) services across secure government environments. This role will support the full lifecycle of M365 service deployment, optimization, and governance, working closely with federal stakeholders including the USCIS Enterprise Engineering and Security teams. The ideal candidate is an M365 expert with experience in GCC and GCC High environments, and a deep understanding of collaboration platforms, administrative architecture, and compliance controls.



Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Microsoft 365 applications including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
  • Lead the deployment and administration of M365 services in Microsoft GCC or GCC High environments.
  • Provide advanced support for M365 tenant configuration, licensing management, and user experience optimization.
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders to develop governance, adoption strategies, and technical documentation for M365 services.
  • Assist with integration and configuration of identity and access solutions (e.g., ADFS, Azure AD, AAD Connect).
  • Support implementation and enforcement of M365 security, compliance, and data governance features (e.g., DLP, eDiscovery, retention policies).
  • Develop and maintain custom automation and administrative scripts using PowerShell to streamline operations.
  • Provide technical mentorship and training to IT support staff and end-users.
  • Partner with project managers and engineers to assess new M365 feature releases and manage rollout strategies.



Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience administering Microsoft 365 services in enterprise or federal GCC environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least three core M365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting for M365 and Azure AD administrative tasks.
  • Strong understanding of identity federation, ADFS, and Azure AD Connect.
  • Experience developing and documenting governance and adoption strategies for M365 rollouts.
  • Familiarity with Federal IT standards and compliance frameworks including NIST, FedRAMP, and DHS policies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical details into actionable insights for stakeholders.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or similar certification.
  • Prior experience supporting USCIS or similar DHS component.
  • Familiarity with Azure Government and Commercial cloud offerings.
  • Background in user training, technical writing, or internal documentation for federal IT systems.
