Lead Systems Operations Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join the Integrated Governance Solutions (IGS) Operations team. This role will be supporting the Archiving and Compliance department which is responsible for the ingestion and archive of Wells Fargo Electronic Communications to the system of record.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives, including high-level technical consultations and provisioning of application environments
  • Work as a key participant in the large-scale planning of enterprise systems, applications, and infrastructure for the Systems Operations area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues, related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic system reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Be a key decision maker on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with the engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Drive, collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to troubleshoot and resolve systems support issues, including Severity 1 issues, to achieve corporate and departmental goals
  • Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time via automated solutions on related tasks
  • Develop and deliver clear and concise technical documentation, including user manuals, system guides and API documentation, tailored to different audience levels with varying technical competencies
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical departments, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment on project goals
  • Be a team player, supporting and encouraging others, while being open to feedback, who can collaborate effectively across teams and departments while contributing to the team’s success


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting enterprise ingestion, archiving solutions, gap analysis and remediation
  • 5+ years of demonstrated solutions involving scripting, automation, dashboard, and modern observability tools experience
  • High proficiency with crafting and managing technical communication strategies to ensure seamless dissemination of complex technical information across internal and external channels

  • Regulatory, eDiscovery and Compliance Experience
  • PowerShell Scripting
  • Batch Scripting
  • MS SQL, Oracle, and T-SQL query writing experience
  • Java or Tomcat experience
  • Power Bi Experience
  • Service Now and\or Database Change Management experience
  • SRE and\or DevOps experience
  • Experience with Smarsh Vantage, Smarsh Connected Capture, ZL Unified Messaging Technologies and Theta Lake.
  • On premise to cloud data migration experience


Job Expectations:

  • Must be able to work independently or in a team setting depending on the task at hand
  • Will be part of an on-call rotation
  • Will need to be agile, proactive and show flexibility in managing multiple tasks and deliverables in a fast-paced enterprise level production support environment with shifting priorities, changing circumstances and challenges
  • Candidate will need to manage their workload and time to ensure deliverables are completed on time
  • This job requires non-traditional hours, some holiday and night/weekend work
  • Mentor junior team members from a technical standpoint

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$119,000.00 - $187,000.00
