Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Lead Microsoft 365 Administrator Position

As the Lead Microsoft 365 Administrator, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things M365 at Colonial Pipeline. You’ll lead the design, implementation, and management of our Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring it’s secure, compliant, and optimized for performance. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role where your technical leadership will shape the future of our digital workplace.

What You Get to Do: 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 services including Office 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, and OneDrive. 

  • Design and implement security and compliance measures in collaboration with Cybersecurity and Information Governance teams. 

  • Manage identity and access controls, eDiscovery, DLP, data labeling, and retention policies. 

  • Provide guidance on endpoint and MDM management (Intune, Jamf, ABM). 

  • Develop documentation, training, and support for end-users and IT staff. 

  • Lead small to medium-scale projects from conception to completion. 

  • Continuously research and implement innovative solutions to improve system reliability and efficiency. 

 

What You Bring to the Table: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education such as ideally 10+ years of direct M365 engineering experience. 

  • Ideally, 7+ years in IT, including 5+ years in M365 administration and 5+ years in enterprise system administration.  

  • One or more of the following: ITIL v4, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Microsoft Administrator Expert, or similar. 

  • Advanced troubleshooting, project management, vendor management, and effective communication skills. 

  • Strong Proficiency in Windows server administration, virtualization, networking, and cloud platforms.

  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
