eDiscovery Analyst

Stoel Rives LLP has an immediate opening for an eDiscovery Analyst. This role will supporting both the eDiscovery department and legal case teams.  This position will provide hands-on operational litigation technology support including but not limited to projects such as CaseMap and TextMap database creation, maintenance, and support, importing data and transcripts; creating Box folders, uploading and downloading data; QC’ing pre-productions and productions; creating lit cases folders and applying security; reformat and convert data; and assist litigation case teams with technology related tasks. May also include utilizing the self-service function provided by the vendor for processing, productions, searching, batching, etc. in Relativity.  This position will also provide support to the eDiscovery Project Manager as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support to eDiscovery Project Managers

  • Daily support and training on best practices using industry standard litigation support software and services.

  • Supporting the transfer, manipulation, and analysis of data, in whatever form, from outside sources such as vendors, clients, other law firms, and adverse parties. 

  • Provides hands-on technical services for case related tasks such as CaseMap and TextMap database creation, maintenance, and support, importing data and transcripts. 

  • Creating Box folders, uploading and downloading data.

  • Perform QC on pre-productions. 

  • Reformat and convert data. 

  • Assist litigation case teams with technology related tasks. 

  • Processing and productions in Relativity will be primarily handled by the outside vendor, but this position may be called upon from time to time to do those same functions through the self-service function the vendor has provided. 

  • Manage user/group security, system updates, and other administration for internal litigation tools. 

  • Liaise with outside vendors providing services to the firm in eDiscovery related projects. 

  • Consistently follows all department Quality Control policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES

Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills; good judgment; the ability to learn quickly; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a changing environment; a focus on service and follow-up on all assignments with in-house clients; attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work product; flexibility and the ability to adapt to change and learn new programs and procedures; high tolerance for stress, rush, and/or last-minute deadlines; the initiative to problem-solve and be resourceful in seeking out solutions and information; and the ability to share responsibility, to work as part of a team on a variety of tasks, both complex and routine, and to work without direct supervision in a fast‑paced setting in which there are rapid changes in daily work schedules.

            Technical Knowledge

Proficient with litigation databases, RelativityOne preferred.  Must be proficient with Microsoft software; experience with SQL, Access, and PowerShell is a plus. 

            Physical and Mental Capabilities

Must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time to enter data at computer terminal.  Must be capable of reading information in printed, handwritten, or computer form many times daily; interpreting and understanding instructions; and interpreting and understanding legal correspondence, memoranda, forms, documents, and reference materials.  May be required to travel out of town and/or out of state to accomplish work assignments.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required.  College degree preferred.  Minimum 2 years’ experience in a law firm or eDiscovery vendor environment required. 

NORMAL WORK HOURS

This position is nonexempt and is eligible for overtime compensation. Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday regardless of location. This position is a remote position but may also require a presence at the office to meet with case teams and/or perform duties as needed. The ability to work longer hours is essential during peak workload periods, during fast-moving transactions or to communicate with parties in different time zones. Working overtime and on holidays may be required and may be on short notice.

The pay range for this position is $59,000 - $130,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
