The Team

 

Our practice specialises in expert consulting services in electronic discovery and the practical application of technology into legal practice. We deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions for lawyers and clients during litigation, regulatory responses, investigations and compliance activities.

 

The Discovery and Forensics team provides comprehensive eDiscovery services from data identification through to production, digital forensics for investigations, AI-enabled document review, and technology consulting for transactions. You will work at the forefront of legal technology innovation with experienced senior consultants committed to your development.

 

 

The Role

 

We currently have a full-time permanent opportunity for a consultant to join our Discovery and Forensics team, you will work on high-profile matters for leading organisations, developing technical expertise whilst building foundational consulting skills. You will execute discovery workflows, manage review databases, and support legal teams with technology-enabled solutions.

 

This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge eDiscovery platforms and emerging technologies whilst learning from experienced senior consultants and managers. You will contribute to matters spanning litigation, regulatory investigations, internal investigations, and corporate transactions. This role is available in either our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane offices with hybrid work arrangements available.

 

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

 

Technical Delivery

 

  • Prepare cost estimates for standard discovery matters using established templates and guidance from senior team members
  • Attend matter kick-off meetings and document technical requirements and workflows
  • Quality assure vendor-processed data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Process documents and data using eDiscovery platforms
  • Perform advanced searches, filtering and culling to identify relevant documents
  • Set up review databases from established templates and workflows
  • Provide introductory database training to legal teams and clients
  • Support the production of documents in required formats and specifications
  • Follow established protocols to ensure compliance with professional standards and court requirements

 

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

 

  • Liaise with legal teams to understand matter requirements and provide technical guidance
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Support senior team members in client meetings and presentations

 

Quality and Continuous Improvement

 

  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables
  • Document workflows and processes to support knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to team discussions on process improvements and emerging technologies
  • Understand the fundamentals of when matters may require digital forensic expertise and support senior team members in coordinating with forensic partners when required

 

 

About You

 

We welcome applications from professionals who possess:

 

  • Strong academic qualifications in IT, computer science, data science, law or a related field, with 1-2 years demonstrated experience in legal technology, eDiscovery, or technology consulting.
  • Proficient technical skills in document and database management, including experience with eDiscovery platforms
  • Strong IT literacy with aptitude for learning new software and applications
  • Competence in data manipulation and analysis
  • Understanding of electronic data types, metadata and file structures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
