The Strategic PM is a senior-level role responsible for driving strategic initiatives, optimizing resource utilization, and overseeing complex discovery and review engagements. This role partners closely with senior leadership, department leads, and stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, high team satisfaction, and continuous improvement across people, processes, and outcomes. The Strategic PM serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and junior teams while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivery standards.
This role requires travel to Armonk, NY.
eDiscovery Strategic Project Management
· Provide guidance on defensible, cost‑effective approaches across the EDRM lifecycle, including preservation, collection, processing, review, and production.
· Partner with attorneys and IT to define project scope, identify data sources, estimate volumes, and recommend appropriate workflows and technologies.
· Recommend and configure review platforms, analytics tools, and document management systems to improve efficiency and quality.
· Oversee data governance & legal hold practices. Counsel teams on best practices for legal hold issuance, custodial interviews, documentation standards, and defensible retention protocols.
· Support IBM in evaluation of eDiscovery, forensics, and managed review providers; define SOWs; and ensure quality and timely delivery.
· Troubleshoot platform issues, advise on search strategies, guide production specifications, and validate results for accuracy.
· Create or refine internal policies, workflows, templates, and playbooks to standardize litigation support functions.
· Educate legal teams, business units, and IT on eDiscovery processes, technology features, and defensibility considerations.
· Analyze and develop vendor efficiencies to guide business decisions and continuous improvement.
· Evaluate emerging technologies—AI, analytics, data governance tools—and lead pilot programs or enterprise implementations.
· Successfully managing multiple concurrent projects as well as team members
Leadership & Growth Strategy
· Partner with department leaders to assess and optimize resource allocation across projects and initiatives.
· Identify utilization risks, capacity gaps, and inefficiencies, and implement strategies to address them.
· Monitor utilization trends and proactively adjust resourcing to balance delivery quality, timelines, and team well-being.
· Foster a culture of continuous learning that aligns individual goals with business needs.
· Translate insights into actionable enhancements to processes, services, and offerings, ensuring timely communication of outcomes.
· Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives and open items in alignment with company goals.
· Develop clear action plans with defined timelines and ownership.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
· Act as an escalation point for concerns, proactively addressing morale, workload, and engagement risks.
· Advocate for team needs while balancing expectations and business objectives.
· Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
· PMP certification or equivalent experience required; other project management certifications and/or training a plus.
· 8 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, program management, or other closely related roles
· Extensive experience managing complex discovery and review projects within the EDRM framework.
· Proven ability to manage resources, budgets, and timelines across multiple concurrent initiatives.
· Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
· Demonstrated experience in metrics-driven decision-making and executive-level reporting.
· Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
· Experience giving consultative guidance on data collections, processing, review workflows, analytics, and production/export deliverables.
· Experience building and maintaining strong relationships through collaborative, consultative service.
