Job Summary:

FMG seeks review attorneys for its internal document review team. We are looking for candidates with significant recent electronic document review experience including second level and privilege review; prior experience in Relativity review platform is required. Interested candidates should be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and have familiarity with Excel.  Candidates should also have excellent communication skills, familiarity with the litigation process and legal documents, strong attention to detail, the ability to complete tasks without significant supervision, and the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure while remaining collegial and collaborative. 

Responsibilities of this role include efficient review of documents in electronic platforms, including Relativity, for responsiveness, privilege, confidentiality and issue coding, communication with  review managers and case teams regarding questions or issues with review, summarizing relevant or notable documents, and collaboration with respect to deposition preparation and fact investigation, including analysis and selection of documents to be utilized in deposition preparation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with establishing review workflows and to maximize efficiency
  • Review and analyze documents in response to litigation requests, internal investigations, and cyber incident response
  • Perform first level, second level, and privilege reviews
  • Prepare privilege logs as needed
  • Identify and redact confidential, privacy, and health related data
  • Identify and flag relevant information for legal proceedings
  • Organize and categorize documents for easy retrieval
  • Collaborate with legal teams to provide document-related insights and recommendations
  • Utilize document review platform to streamline review process
  • Assist client teams in the development of witness files, timelines, chronologies, deposition and trial outlines and memoranda.
  • Assists with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  •  Active license to practice law in any jurisdiction
  •  3+ years of dedicated document review experience
  • Skilled in document review platforms such as Relativity, Epiq, Disco, etc.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with numerous legal professionals in general commercial and financial litigation, insurance matters, product liability litigation, health care matters.
  • Ability to manage e-discovery requests in response to subpoenas, requests for production of documents, and all other forms of discovery. 
  • Ability to train new attorneys on privilege, confidentiality, and e-discovery policies and procedures.
