Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

General Function: The Systems Administration team is responsible for the IT server and computer system infrastructure across the enterprise including Hy-Vee’s retail, corporate, subsidiary, distribution, and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will excel at obtaining results in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem solving and communication skills, and can connect technology to real-world business challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and support Office 365 suite configurations and policies.
- Provide subject matter expertise of Microsoft 365 applications and services
- Provide subject matter expertise in Compliance & data retention leveraging Microsoft 365 Data Loss Protection (DLP) and Microsoft 365 capabilities such as retention policies including Microsoft 365 eDiscovery
- Implementation of new Microsoft 365 features and functionality (Microsoft Teams, Office 365 Groups, Planner, PowerApps)
- Evaluate needs and deliver solutions using OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint and other M365 collaboration tools
- Administers and maintains Windows servers operating on physical infrastructure or VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors.
- Maintains highly available solutions for on-premises datacenter workloads.
- Encourages automation by leveraging PowerShell and or other scripting languages.
- Administers and maintains storage, backups, and replication.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation stored within the team's knowledge base.
- Manages Systems alerting and monitoring tools used in the enterprise.
- Plans and performs disaster recovery procedures.
- Provides second level support and assistance to Support Services and Systems Administrators.
- Works with outside consultants and vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
- Supports the business by being a part of the on-call rotation
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience administering Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, Clustering, PKI)
- Extensive experience with Microsoft O365 setup and administration
- Extensive experience with Certificate creation and implementation
- Extensive experience with VMware or Hyper-V hypervisors.
- Experience with troubleshooting applications and preventative maintenance.
- Understanding of monitoring tools such as NAGIOS, Solarwinds.
- Understanding of the network stack.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- Must possess the ability to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; evaluate technical data; and counsel or advise people.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience (5+ years) is required.
- Ideally 5+ years as an M365 administrator in a 5000+ user environment
- Expert knowledge of Office 365 Platform, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, PowerBI, Security & Compliance Center, and OneDrive for Business
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
- Visual requirements include clarity of vision at 20 inches or less up to 20 feet or more with or without correction; and color vision.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
