About the Role

The Senior Microsoft M365 Engineer will own and optimize our Microsoft M365 environment, ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence across email, collaboration, and automation platforms. This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, and PowerShell automation, as well as experience in regulated industries. You will play a critical role in enabling secure productivity, managing governance, and supporting advanced tools like Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate.

What You'll Do

M365 Platform Ownership & Governance 

  • Administer and optimize Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Intune
  • Define and enforce messaging architecture best practices; plan and document technical changes
  • Review and maintain scheduled tasks and system jobs related to M365
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business needs and translate them into secure, scalable solutions

 

Identity & Application Management (Entra ID) 

  • Oversee registration, lifecycle management, access controls, and governance of applications integrated with Microsoft Entra ID

 

Messaging, Email Security & Routing 

  • Manage company email domains and associated authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
  • Manage email and spam filtering and routing via Proofpoint and M365 transport rules
  • Implement and maintain messaging and mail policies/rules; manage email aliases for the organization
  • Proactively monitor mail flows, investigate issues as they arise, and develop measures to prevent widespread impact
  • Troubleshoot mail sending/receiving, message tracking, and message relays; resolve connectivity issues to messaging systems

 

Automation, Scripting & Reporting 

  • Automate tasks using PowerShell; develop and maintain scripts for automation, O365 jobs, and reporting
  • Build proactive tools and monitoring solutions to surface and resolve issues early

 

Copilot, Power Platform & Secure Enablement 

  • Oversee Microsoft Copilot for M365 and establish secure frameworks/guardrails for end-user automation using Copilot Studio and Power Automate
  • Provide end-user training and support to drive safe and effective adoption

 

Support, Escalations & Operations 

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex issues; resolve escalation issues in partnership with the Service Desk
  • Work with the Service Desk to resolve client connectivity issues and other escalated support needs
  • Develop SOPs for the Service Desk to handle common issues before escalating
  • Review global outages and communicate impact, status, and remediation to IT leadership
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support activities as needed

 

Security, Compliance, eDiscovery & Legal 

  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to provide guidance on platform capabilities and assist in developing policies for email retention, archival, and data governance
  • Work with Legal to execute legal holds and ensure data integrity and retention
  • Maintain a strong cloud security and compliance posture across M365 services

About You

  • 6+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Exchange environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Skilled at providing end-user technical support with a customer first mindset
  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365, Windows/macOS environments, and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Atlassian, and Slack
  • Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Experience with modern endpoint management tools, including Microsoft Intune
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation for efficiency and scale
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP)
  • Familiar with identity and access management, device imaging, software deployment, and remote support solutions
  • Excellent communicator with strong organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and reliable—willing to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and able to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as needed
  • Comfortable collaborating in a hybrid work environment, supporting teams both in-person and remotely

Bonus

  • 3+ years of senior-level experience in a highly regulated industry
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools into the Microsoft 365 suite
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, PMP, or similar)
  • Legacy Exchange Server experience
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and partners

Work Location
San Francisco, Lehi

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. LendingClub offers relocation, based on actual job level.

Time Zone Requirements
Local hours (PT, MT)

While the position will primarily work local hours, LendingClub is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements
As needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations, as needed.

Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 133,000-170,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of LendingClub’s Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
