The Senior M365 Administrator – Teams Specialist is responsible for managing, administering, and optimizing the Microsoft Teams environment across the enterprise. The role ensures reliable Teams collaboration, telephony (Teams Phone), and meeting experiences, integrating Teams with other Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune. The specialist will also drive governance, compliance, and automation initiatives within Teams and M365 collaboration tools .

Microsoft Teams Administration & Operations

  • Manage and support Microsoft Teams, including configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Administer Teams policies (messaging, meeting, calling, and app setup policies). Implement and manage Teams Rooms, Teams-certified devices, and Teams Phone System (PSTN, Direct Routing, Operator Connect).
  • Oversee voice routing, auto attendants, call queues, and voice-enabled users in Teams. Integrate Teams with Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive for seamless collaboration.
  • Manage Teams updates, feature rollouts, and user adoption initiatives.
  • Manage Teams Federation requests

Microsoft 365 Platform Administration

  • Support and maintain Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Viva tools.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, licenses, and permissions in Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Collaborate with Intune and Security teams to align Teams with device compliance and data protection policies.
  • Maintain Teams retention policies, DLP, and eDiscovery configurations.

Telephony and Voice Integration

  • Deploy and manage Teams Phone System and Direct Routing solutions.
  • Troubleshoot voice quality using Call Quality Dashboard (CQD) and Teams Admin Center.
  • Manage number provisioning, call queues, and auto attendants. Work with network teams to optimize QoS, SBC, and firewall configurations.

Governance, Security, and Compliance

  • Develop and enforce Teams governance policies for creation, naming, and external sharing.
  • Monitor Teams activities through Defender for Office 365 and audit logs.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO, and company security standards.
  • Manage lifecycle and archival of inactive Teams.

Collaboration & Support

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex Teams incidents.
  • Work cross-functionally with Service Desk, Network, and Security teams.
  • Create user training and support documentation.
  • Participate in major migration and service improvement projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years managing Microsoft 365, with 3+ years in Teams administration.
  • Expertise in Teams Phone System, Direct Routing, and SBC configuration.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, and Intune.
  • Experience in O365 Exchange Administrator
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and QoS for real-time traffic.
  • Experience with Security & Compliance Center, Defender for Office 365, and Conditional Access. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field. (B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc. IT, or equivalent)

Microsoft Certifications (Preferred):

  • MS-700: Managing Microsoft Teams
  • MS-720: Teams Voice Engineer
  • MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator
  • AZ-104: Azure Administrator
