Job Description Summary

Design, implement, and support enterprise messaging compliance solutions as part of a broader enterprise messaging team, with a primary focus on Proofpoint Archive. This role ensures that email and electronic communications meet regulatory, legal, and business requirements while remaining secure, performant, and auditable. The engineer partners closely with security, legal, compliance, and infrastructure teams to maintain compliant communication platforms and evolve them in line with regulatory and technology changes.

Job Description

This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in our Raymond James St. Petersburg HQ location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and support Proofpoint Archive and related email compliance solutions across enterprise messaging platforms.

  • Administer and support email archiving solutions to ensure compliance with financial services regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and troubleshoot message ingestion, journaling, data capture, and supervision workflows to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Provide advanced support for messaging incidents, including data capture failures, compliance gaps, and performance issues.

  • Configure and support integrations between Microsoft 365, Hybrid Exchange and Proofpoint services.

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell, Splunk queries, and other automation scripts to support user provisioning, policy updates, reporting, dashboards and operational efficiency.

  • Monitor platform health, alerts, and reporting; proactively identify risks, gaps, or optimization opportunities.

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Information Security teams to implement and maintain controls aligned with regulatory and policy requirements.

  • Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal reviews by providing technical expertise, evidence, and reporting as needed.

  • Contribute to architecture standards, roadmaps, and documentation for messaging platforms.

  • Stay current on regulatory, industry, and product trends in enterprise messaging compliance and archiving, and assess their organizational impact.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience administering messaging compliance archive solutions in an enterprise or a regulated financial environment.

  • Solid understanding of email compliance, retention, supervision, and eDiscovery concepts.

  • Ability to translate regulatory and policy requirements into technical supervision and retention controls.

  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange Hybrid and Microsoft 365 email architectures.

  • Exposure to Azure / Azure AD and identity integrations related to messaging platforms.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex message flow, journaling, and ingestion issues across cloud and on-prem components.

  • Proficiency with PowerShell for automation and operational support.

  • Proficiency with Splunk Queries and dashboards.

  • Experience working with alerts, health checks, reporting, and operational monitoring for messaging platforms.

  • Project management or delivery experience for compliance-driven initiatives.

  • Strong documentation skills, including operational procedures and architectural artifacts.

  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (Legal, Compliance, Security, Infrastructure)

Education

Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Computer Systems Analysis, High School (HS) (Required)
