About the role

This role is centered on advanced technical expertise across SharePoint and Teams. Working closely with the Product Manager and relevant stakeholders, you will help turn platform needs and priorities into robust, scalable, and well-governed technical solutions.

The role combines technical design, engineering, automation, configuration, troubleshooting, and implementation, and is well suited for someone who brings deep hands-on knowledge and enjoys working with complex platform topics in a collaborative environment.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical depth in SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem, with the ability to deliver high-quality solutions across complex platform areas.

The essence of the role

You will act as a senior technical specialist for SharePoint- and Teams-related solutions, contributing to a stable, scalable, and well-managed collaboration environment. The role requires strong practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform capabilities and the ability to apply that knowledge in effective and sustainable ways.

You should be comfortable with scripting, automation, configuration, and platform customization, and bring solid expertise in areas such as SharePoint information architecture, managed metadata, search schema, permissions, document management, and version history behavior. Experience with PowerShell, PnP PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and preferably SPFx will be important in this role.

As our Senior SharePoint & Teams Engineer, you will

  • Provide advanced technical expertise across SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
  • Design, configure, build, and maintain solutions based on agreed needs, priorities, and platform requirements
  • Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, including PnP PowerShell
  • Work with Microsoft Graph and related APIs to support integrations, reporting, and platform operations
  • Build and support modern customizations and extensions, preferably using SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
  • Support and optimize SharePoint Online in areas such as:
    • site structure and information architecture
    • content types and site columns
    • managed metadata and taxonomy
    • search schema, crawled properties, and managed properties
    • permissions and access models
    • document libraries and document management practices
    • version history settings and related storage considerations
  • Support Microsoft Teams from an advanced technical perspective, including its interaction with SharePoint and the wider Microsoft 365 environment
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues, perform root-cause analysis, and contribute to sustainable resolutions
  • Act as an escalation point for technical issues beyond the support team’s scope, providing advanced analysis, guidance, and resolution support
  • Document technical solutions, implementation approaches, standards, and key platform changes to support continuity and maintainability
  • Train and enable support teams on relevant technical changes, new solutions, and updated platform behaviors so they can handle issues at the appropriate level
  • Create reusable scripts, technical components, and implementation patterns that improve consistency, governance, and maintainability
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and relevant stakeholders to implement platform improvements and agreed priorities

 

Who are you?

You are an experienced and hands-on engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges, building sustainable solutions, and working in environments where both quality and practicality matter.

You combine technical depth with a structured and collaborative way of working. You are comfortable advising on technical options, identifying risks, and helping shape sound implementations while keeping a strong focus on delivery and platform quality. You have a strong team-oriented mindset and understand the importance of collaboration, alignment, and clear communication when introducing technical changes.

To excel in this role, the following qualifications are essential

  • 5+ Years experience.
  • Strong enterprise-level experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong hands-on experience with PowerShell for administration, automation, and reporting
  • Experience with PnP PowerShell
  • Experience working with Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 APIs
  • Preferably experience with SPFx for modern SharePoint customization and extensibility
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint information architecture, including content types, columns, metadata, and taxonomy
  • Strong understanding of search schema, including crawled and managed properties
  • Strong understanding of permissions models, sharing structures, and collaboration patterns
  • Strong understanding of document management, version history behavior, and related governance implications
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Purview, including sensitivity labels and eDiscovery, and how these capabilities interact with SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to translate requirements into well-designed and supportable technical solutions
  • Ability to document technical work clearly and share knowledge effectively with support teams and stakeholders
  • Professional communication skills in English, written and spoken

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with SharePoint REST APIs, or other Microsoft 365 extensibility models
  • Experience with provisioning frameworks, governance automation, or migration tooling
  • Experience working in large-scale or global Microsoft 365 environments
  • Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Teams
