SharePoint Architect (SharePoint Online Microsoft 365)
Location: DFW Metroplex Preferred / Remote Hybrid Reports to: VP, Global IT Operations and Service Delivery
Summary
We are hiring a hands‑on SharePoint Architect to own the design, build, and operational support of our SharePoint Online estate following a recent Microsoft 365 migration. This role will remediate broken Power Automate flows, design and deliver intranet and departmental sites (including an IT site), secure and govern extensive external collaboration with contractors, vendors, and customers, and establish best practices, runbooks, and training so SharePoint reliably supports business operations and revenue‑generating collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Remediate Power Automate flows: diagnose and rewrite broken flows and expressions migrated from legacy systems; implement error handling, logging, and maintainable formulas.
- Architect information architecture: design site collections, hub/site relationships, metadata/taxonomy, content types, navigation, and search.
- Design and build sites: deliver modern SharePoint sites and templates for intranet, departmental, and customer collaboration; lead development of the IT site MVP.
- External collaboration: design secure Azure AD B2B guest patterns, conditional access, guest lifecycle, and governance for contractors, vendors, and customers.
- Governance and policy: define and enforce site provisioning, naming, lifecycle, sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, and permissions models.
- Operational support: act as Tier 3 SME for incidents, change requests, performance tuning, and cross‑team escalations.
- Integrations and automation: build and maintain integrations with Power Platform, Graph API, Azure services, and third‑party systems.
- Documentation and training: produce architecture diagrams, runbooks, deployment checklists, and deliver training for admins and site owners.
- Security and compliance: collaborate with Security and Compliance teams on eDiscovery, legal hold, Information Barriers, and auditability.
- Continuous improvement: identify technical debt, propose roadmap items, and lead modernization projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hands‑on SharePoint Online architecture and implementation experience.
- Deep Power Platform skills: authoring and troubleshooting Power Automate flows and connectors.
- Modern SharePoint development: SPFx, React, TypeScript, REST/Graph API.
- Information architecture expertise: site collections, hubs, metadata, content types, and search tuning.
- External collaboration experience: Azure AD B2B, guest governance, conditional access.
- Security and compliance knowledge: sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, eDiscovery, Information Barriers.
- Operational experience: runbooks, monitoring, backup/recovery, incident response for SharePoint Online.
- Strong communication: stakeholder management and ability to translate technical tradeoffs to business owners.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator Associate or Developer Associate.
- Experience with migrations and post‑migration remediation from legacy platforms.
- CI/CD and DevOps for SPFx and Power Platform solutions.
- Experience building customer‑facing collaboration portals or revenue‑facing SharePoint solutions.
- Familiarity with GitHub, Copilot for Microsoft 365, and automation best practices.
