Job Title: Microsoft SharePoint Administrator

Business Function/Sub Function: IT Infra & Operation

Location: Noida, India

 

ROLE PURPOSE:

 

Working as part of a diverse team, the SharePoint Administrator is responsible for the management, configuration, and support of SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server environments. This role ensures seamless collaboration, document management, and workflow automation across a multitenant, multinational organisation, while maintaining security, compliance, and optimal performance.

 

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Administration & Support

· Manage, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and permissions across a multitenant, multinational organisation.

· Monitor system health, performance, and usage; respond to alerts and incidents.

· Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all SharePoint-related issues.

· Configuration & Customisation

· Implement and manage site collections, content types, workflows, and web parts.

· Customise SharePoint using PowerShell, SharePoint Designer, and Power Automate.

· Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, PowerApps).

· Security & Compliance

· Manage user access, permissions, and security groups to ensure security compliance and optimal performance.

· Implement data retention, eDiscovery, and compliance policies.

· Ensure SharePoint environments adhere to organisational and regulatory standards.

· Migration & Upgrades

· Plan and execute migrations (on-premises to cloud, version upgrades, tenant-to-tenant).

· Support integration with legacy systems and third-party platforms.

· Collaboration & Training

· Liaise with business units to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

· Provide training and documentation for end-users and site owners.

· Promote best practices for document management and collaboration.

· Continuous Improvement

· Stay updated with Microsoft 365/SharePoint roadmap and new features.

· Recommend and implement enhancements for usability, automation, and efficiency.

 

Project & Stakeholder Management

 

· Manage IT infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations based on business requirements.

· Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and R&D teams to align IT strategies with organisational goals.

· Provide regular reports and insights on IT performance, risks, and improvement plans.

 

Bonus Points For

 

Experience integrating SharePoint with LMS platforms like Moodle or Thesis.

 

Knowledge of accessibility features and inclusive learning tools within Microsoft 365.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

· Microsoft certifications (preferred but not mandatory):

o Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator Associate (MS-300)

o Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Server Hybrid

o Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)

· ITIL Foundation or equivalent knowledge of IT service management is a plus.

· Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, service management tools, automation, and PowerShell scripting.

· Proven experience in leading IT support teams, managing IT projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

 

· 3+ years of experience administering SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.

· Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, site collections, permissions, and workflows.

· Experience with PowerShell scripting for SharePoint administration.

· Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online).

· Understanding of security, compliance, and data governance in SharePoint.

· Experience with migration tools (ShareGate, Metalogix, etc.) is a plus.

· Knowledge of integration with other platforms (e.g., LMS, ERP) is desirable.
