Contract
On-site
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
$90,000 - $110,000 CAD yearly

Who we are:

For over 25 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world’s most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.

Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It’s a place where you can genuinely make an impact – and be recognized for it.

We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.

Your role:

As a Senior UX Designer, you will own and shape the end-to-end user experience for a key product area within Global Relay’s information archiving platform (used for surveillance and eDiscovery).

You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including UI/UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Product Managers, Engineers, SMEs and Stakeholders—to deliver high-quality user experiences in our customer-focused agile environment.

We are looking for a UX Designer who champions our users in all phases of the product management cycle. From context and problem framing all the way through to the delivery of meaningful solutions.

Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term contract for maternity cover, starting at the end of July.
This role may convert to a permanent position based on business needs and individual performance.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead, in collaboration with UI Designers, the design execution of key initiatives from discovery through delivery.
  • Advocate for our customers by gaining a deep understanding of their workflow and the challenges they face.
  • Be a key partner to stakeholders and product management in helping to come up with approaches that work — you’re not here to just “gather” requirements.
  • Proactively partner with UXR to apply research techniques that are appropriate to the problem being addressed.
  • Concept, prototype, validate, fine-tune and present design solutions.
  • Communicate those solutions to our developers in an agile software development environment.
  • Create sketches, flows, wireframes and other design artifacts.
  • Help identify and leverage metrics to drive product management and measure success.
  • Give and receive feedback constructively to uplift design thinking capabilities.

About you:

  • 6+ years of experience in UX design for web, desktop or mobile applications.
  • Proven experience of your UX process and how it resulted in useful and intuitive products.
  • Experience in an Enterprise business environment and Agile.
  • You view design as a process of discovery, using experimentation, early concepts, and iterative validation to define problems and refine solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Managers to define strategy, scope, priorities, and success metrics.
  • Experience conducting or partnering on user research and usability testing, and applying insights to design decisions.
  • Expertise in facilitating workshops and creating UX artefacts such as user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and prototypes.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions with evidence.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma, with the ability to iterate efficiently.
  • Empathy, intellectual curiosity and openness to learn about compliance in finance

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
  • Background in financial services.
  • Proficiency in AI tools such as Claude, Figma Make (or similar).
