Title: Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer 


Salary: $120K+


Location: Greater Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid - may be required to come into the office 2-3x a week)


Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Engineer with strong Tenant-to-Tenant Migration experience to lead and execute various Microsoft 365 projects with specialization around Microsoft 365 Migrations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft 365 services and delivery, along with familiarization with migration tools, and best practices for securely and efficiently transferring data, identities, and configurations across tenants.


Key Responsibilities

 

Tenant To Tenant Migrations


  • Plan and Design Migration Strategies:
    1. Assess source and target Microsoft 365 tenants.
    2. Develop detailed migration plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
    3. Execute Tenant-to-Tenant Migrations:
    4. Perform migrations of Exchange Online mailboxes, SharePoint Online sites, OneDrive accounts, Teams, Google to M365 migrations and other Microsoft 365 workloads.
    5. Ensure minimal downtime and data integrity during migration.
    6. Identity and Access Management:
    7. Configure and migrate Azure Active Directory users, groups, and roles.
    8. Implement secure authentication and conditional access policies post-migration.
    9. Data Governance and Compliance:
    10. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements during migration.
    11. Validate data security and retention policies in the target tenant.
    12. Troubleshooting and Support:
    13. Resolve migration-related issues promptly and diligently.
    14. Provide pre and post-migration support and documentation.
    15. Collaboration and Communication:
    16. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
    17. Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

 

M365 Services

  • Microsoft Teams Deployment & Migration
    1. Migrate chat history, voice, channels, and files from other collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack).
    2. Upgrading Teams architecture or consolidating Teams environments.
    3. Deployment of Teams Voice
  • Security & Compliance Projects
    1. Implement Microsoft Purview (Compliance Manager, DLP, eDiscovery).
    2. Configure Conditional Access, MFA, and Identity Protection.
    3. Data classification and retention policy setup.
  • Identity & Access Management
    1. Azure Active Directory setup and synchronization with on-prem AD.
    2. Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) and passwordless authentication.
  • Modern Workplace Enablement
    1. Deploy Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (Office suite).
    2. Configure Windows Autopilot and Intune for device management.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery
    1. Implement third-party backup solutions for Microsoft 365 workloads.
    2. Design business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Governance & Adoption
    1. Develop governance frameworks for Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
    2. Drive user adoption and training programs.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience with M365 services and M365 tenant to tenant migrations.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency of the following:
  1. M365 Apps
  2. Exchange Online
  3. SharePoint Online
  4. OneDrive
  5. MS Teams
  6. Azure
  7. Endpoint Management
  8. Threat protection/Security
  9. Identity/Access management
  10. Purview
  11. Migrations 
  • Familiarity with migration tools such as Quest Migration Manager, BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, AvePoint, Mover.io, etc.
  • Experience with creating and utilizing PowerShell scripts
  • Proficiency in pre-sales activities around architecting, designing, and building accurate M365 solutions for clients of all sizes and calibers
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-900, MS-700, MS-100, MS-101 etc.)
  • Proficiency in Exchange Server and related components
  • Strong problem-solving skills to understand and resolve both simple and complex technical issues while communicating clearly with all stakeholders
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Follow company process and standards to ensure efficient workflow and quality results

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Delivery experience with large scale M365 Service engagements as well as migration projects involving mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures
  • Deep experience with security and compliance frameworks within M365
  • Deep experience in accurately scoping M365 and Tenant to Tenant Migration solutions
