Description

The Opportunity: Drive the Strategy, Lead the Team

At Vicente LLP, we don’t run a traditional, top-heavy litigation department where senior associates are kept in the shadows. We represent market disrupters and corporate pioneers navigating heavily regulated, rapidly evolving industries. Because the legal landscape we play in is constantly shifting, we need leaders who can think on their feet and command a courtroom.

We are seeking an ambitious, trial-ready Senior Litigation Associate to join our Colorado team. This is a high-impact role designed for an elite advocate who has mastered the mechanics of litigation and is ready to take the wheel. You will run high-stakes commercial and regulatory matters, serve as the primary point of contact for sophisticated clients, and help mentor and shape our junior talent.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Command the Caseload: Act as the day-to-day lead counsel on complex commercial, administrative, and regulatory disputes, driving case strategy from inception through trial or resolution.
  • Lead in the Courtroom: Argue dispositive motions, handle critical evidentiary hearings, and take a primary role in state and expression federal trials and administrative proceedings across Colorado.
  • Master Complex Discovery: Take and defend key expert and corporate depositions, manage complex electronic discovery (e-discovery) strategies, and resolve high-stakes discovery disputes.
  • Be a Trusted Advisor: Counsel executive-level clients directly, translating intricate legal risks into sharp, actionable business strategies.
  • Mentor & Build: Oversee, guide, and develop junior associates and paralegals, ensuring elite work product while fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment.
  • Collaborate Across Practices: Partner closely with our national corporate and regulatory groups to deliver seamless, multidisciplinary defense and compliance strategies.

Who You Are & Qualifications

  • An Assertive Leader: You don’t need a roadmap—you draw it. You take extreme ownership of your cases, anticipate risks before they materialize, and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • A Sharp, Quick-Witted Advocate: You possess the intellectual agility needed to untangle highly complex, novel legal issues on the fly. Your writing is persuasive and precise, and your courtroom presence is commanding.
  • Partner-Track Mindset: You are looking for a platform where your hustle is recognized, with a clear desire to contribute to strategic firm-building and long-term business development.
  • Values-Driven: A profound commitment to client service, unwavering integrity, and a desire to contribute positively to a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative firm culture.

Deep Legal & Procedural Foundation

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • 5 to 8 years of dedicated litigation experience, handling sophisticated commercial or regulatory disputes within a well-regarded law firm setting.
  • Active bar membership in Colorado (or immediate eligibility to waive in).
  • Deep working knowledge of Colorado and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Why Vicente LLP?

For a senior associate, we provide an unparalleled runway to partnership: direct client access, real courtroom ownership, and mentorship from nationally recognized trial attorneys.
