TechOp is looking for an experienced Senior FOIA Analyst, with team management experience, to take on the role of onsite Project Manager in support of a federal client. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing cradle to grave FOIA processing, manage a team of analysts, and ensuring timely and compliant responses to complex and high-profile deliverable requests. The ideal candidate will bring extensive FOIA expertise, strong supervisory experience, and a deep understanding of federal records, disclosure policy, and legal requirements. This position offers the opportunity to lead a mission-critical function supporting government transparency and accountability.
Responsibilities:
· Serve as the primary point of contact and on-site lead for all FOIA-related activities, ensuring effective coordination between the FOIA team, agency personnel, and various stakeholders.
· Manage a team of FOIA professionals, delivering training, guidance, analysis, and support
· Oversee the intake, assignment, and timely processing of FOIA requests, ensuring compliance with federal laws, agency regulations, and deadlines.
· Provide technical support in processing FOIA and Privacy Act requests
· Conduct quality assurance reviews of FOIA responses to ensure accuracy, proper application of exemptions, and consistency with agency standards.
· Coordinate with legal counsel, program offices, and subject matter experts on complex or sensitive FOIA requests, appeals, and litigation support.
· BA/BS in a relevant discipline
· 2+ years of project management experience, including team coordination and oversight of daily operations
· 5+ years of FOIA and Privacy Act experience; or three (3) years of experience as a working paralegal
· Experience completing QA/QC reports, coordinating project deliverables, and monitoring performance metric
· Familiarity with FOIA tracking systems/ automation tools such as FOIAXpress and eDiscovery
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability to deal with competing priorities
