Your New Role

We are seeking a results-oriented Senior Director, eDiscovery & Forensics to lead the enterprise-wide strategy and execution of legal discovery and forensic investigation capabilities. This role ensures defensible, scalable processes for litigation support, regulatory compliance, and cyber incident response across the company.

The Senior Director oversees key programs including electronic discovery (ESI preservation, collection, processing, and review), forensic investigations for cyber incidents and insider threats, and governance for evidence handling and chain-of-custody protocols. The role also drives compliance alignment with global privacy and data protection regulations and partners closely with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Technology teams to deliver secure, efficient, and defensible outcomes.

The successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment, strong execution discipline, clear executive communication skills, and experience leading globally distributed teams in complex, matrixed environments.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Own the enterprise eDiscovery and Forensics strategy, ensuring defensible, efficient processes for litigation, regulatory, and internal investigations.

  • Establish governance and standards for evidence handling, chain of custody, and compliance with global privacy and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).

  • Lead forensic readiness and investigation programs, enabling rapid triage, root-cause analysis, and defensible reporting for cyber incidents, insider threats, and fraud cases.

  • Oversee eDiscovery workflows, including preservation, collection, processing, and review of electronically stored information (ESI) for litigation and regulatory matters.

  • Manage platform governance for eDiscovery and forensic tools (e.g., Relativity, Nuix, EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite), ensuring security, access controls, and operational efficiency.

  • Drive automation and workflow optimization, including legal hold notifications, custodian tracking, and review processes to improve efficiency.

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Cybersecurity teams to align discovery and investigation processes with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure compliance alignment with regulatory and industry frameworks (e.g., SOX IT controls, PCI DSS, SWIFT, privacy and data protection requirements, or similar standards) and contractual obligations; support audits and client security reviews.

  • Provide executive-level reporting on case metrics, investigation turnaround times, and cost efficiency to senior leadership and governance bodies.

  • Build and scale a high-performing global team, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and a culture of partnership across legal and technology functions.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and defensible testimony when required in legal or regulatory proceedings.

Qualifications & Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven senior leadership in eDiscovery and digital forensics, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing large-scale litigation support and cyber investigations.

  • Deep expertise in forensic tools and techniques (EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite) and eDiscovery platforms (Relativity, Nuix), with strong understanding of EDR and cloud forensics.

  • Proven ability to manage complex investigations and discovery processes in compliance with global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and data governance frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and industry frameworks and experience supporting audits and client reviews.

  • Proven ability to partner effectively with senior leaders across Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Technology functions.

  • Experience leading and developing teams or functions in global, matrixed environments, with a focus on accountability, execution discipline, and talent development.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and legal concepts into actionable strategies for executive leadership and governance forums, ensuring defensibility and efficiency.

  • Advanced degree and/or relevant professional certifications preferred (e.g., EnCE, CCE, GCFA, GCIH, CEDS, or comparable credentials).
