Main responsibilities:

The Sr. Digital Forensic Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the company’s legal obligations with respect to the preservation, collection, and production of documents.  The Analyst employs technology to collect and recover digital data from computers, cloud sources, mobile devices, and other digital storage media, and to perform complex and sophisticated searches of that collection for refinement. The analyst works with both internal and external clients with respect to the preservation, collection, and refinement, and also the transfer of the collection and, as applicable, ingestion into eDiscovery platforms.  Overall, this position enhances legal defensibility and compliance; reduces organizational risk; and improves decision-making.

The position will be based in Boise, Idaho or Pleasanton CA with an in-office requirement for four days and one flex day of work.

  • Data Collection  
    • Manage technical processes for data collection, data ingestion, data processing, data export, and data manipulations.
    • Perform forensic data extraction using forensic applications on company devices, specified personal devices/BYOD, and online storage.
    • Perform data disposition in support of eDiscovery processing of internal data.
    • Troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate exceptions that occur while data processing, data ingestion, or any other collection requests.
    • Update, maintain, and document data collection.
    • Follow and document data collection approvals and justification, and chain-of-custody.
    • Provide status reports on data collection matters.
  • Data Analysis
    • Provide data and user behavior analysis
    • Provide custom analysis as requested
  • Data Loss Assessment
    • Track and update loss devices and determine the potential data loss and impact.
  • Leadership
    • Provide technical expertise and support to Legal, Asset Protection, Human Resources, and other clients in data collection
    • Function as an expert technical and compliance resource to clients, management, and staff in all phases of data collection and data investigation 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
  • Five plus years of experience in computer system and network forensics, case management and litigation support.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures regarding chain of custody practice, proper forensic techniques, litigation and related discovery processes.
  • Experience with Windows, Mac OS X, iOS and Android operating systems, and Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding and application of forensic tools such as Microsoft Purview, EnCase, Falcon, FTK Imager, Forensic Explorer, Autopsy, Cellebrite UFED, Magnet AXIOM, Tableau TX1, Belkasoft X and Oxygen.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Possess a focused attention to detail.
  • Possess an ability to work independently on repetitive tasks.
  • Possess excellent people, writing and communication skills–

Pay Transparency:
