This position is based 100% at the Store Support Center in Irving, Texas.

7-Eleven is seeking a highly accomplished senior risk litigation attorney to join our Legal team and serve as a strategic advisor to a rapidly growing and evolving enterprise. Attorneys at 7-Eleven are deeply integrated business partners, providing practical, business-focused legal counsel that enables innovation, mitigates risk, and supports organizational objectives across a dynamic and complex operating environment.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a substantial portfolio of pre-litigation, premises liability, and personal injury matters across multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States and Canada. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal guidance on litigation, claims management, risk mitigation, and operational issues while partnering closely with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.

Success in this position requires exceptional legal judgment, strong executive presence, and the ability to effectively manage a team in charge of a high-volume litigation portfolio while balancing competing priorities and advancing business objectives. The ideal candidate brings a demonstrated track record of managing complex litigation at scale, directing outside counsel, leveraging litigation analytics to identify emerging risks and trends, and implementing process improvements that enhance consistency, efficiency, and outcomes.

This attorney will play a critical role in shaping litigation strategy and risk management practices, and delivering innovative legal solutions that support enterprise growth. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as managing internal supervising counsel for a broad portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters, developing and executing legal strategies that align with organizational objectives and risk tolerance.
• Direct and oversee outside counsel throughout the United States and Canada, ensuring high-quality legal representation, consistent litigation strategy, cost-effective case management, and achievement of favorable outcomes.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional business leaders to provide timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice on litigation, claims, investigations, and risk management matters.
• Supervise and provide strategic direction to a team of litigation support resources, including paralegals and external service providers, to ensure efficient management of litigation workflows and case portfolios
• Manage complex e-discovery processes, including preservation, collection, review, production, and defensibility considerations across a broad range of matters.
• Establish and maintain trusted relationships with business clients by delivering responsive counsel, clear risk assessments, and actionable recommendations that support operational and strategic priorities.
• Oversee all aspects of outside counsel management, including engagement strategy, performance evaluation, budget administration, and vendor optimization initiatives.
• Effectively prioritize and manage multiple litigation, claims, and investigative matters simultaneously while maintaining exceptional standards of accuracy, responsiveness, and professional judgment.
• Analyze litigation data, claims activity, and emerging legal trends to identify systemic risks, inform business decisions, and drive proactive risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop, implement, and continuously enhance scalable processes, governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and litigation outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to support training, compliance initiatives, policy development, and enterprise-wide efforts designed to reduce legal exposure and strengthen organizational resilience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: JD
• 10+ years of relevant work experience
• Demonstrated experience managing teams in charge of complex, high-volume litigation portfolios across multiple jurisdictions with significant experience overseeing premises liability, personal injury, general liability, or related litigation matters.
• Experience supporting large, multi-site, consumer-facing, retail, restaurant, hospitality, or franchised organizations a plus.
• Proven success managing outside counsel networks and driving accountability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Experience utilizing litigation analytics and reporting tools to identify trends, monitor performance, and support strategic decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and implement scalable litigation management solutions.
• Deep understanding of litigation strategy, claims management, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation principles.
• Strong knowledge of e-discovery practices, including legal hold administration, preservation obligations, collection methodologies, document review workflows, and production protocols.
• Exceptional legal analysis, issue-spotting, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business guidance.
• Strong executive presence and communication skills, including the ability to influence executives and stakeholders and present recommendations to senior leadership.
• Superior organizational and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging metrics and trends to drive strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
