Senior Consultant, Discovery & Data Insights

Role purpose

To drive & manage the continued development of our digital forensic technology capabilities in Southeast Asia.

Role tasks and responsibilities

Professional Skills:
Assist in the development and management of the team’s forensic technologies service offerings and capabilities.
Play a supporting role in the management of complex fraud and corruption investigations, particularly those involving the use of forensic technologies.
Be prepared to share knowledge and expertise with fellow team members and other colleagues.
Staying up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the digital forensics and eDiscovery space. Conduct research to improve methodologies and workflows.
Develop client-facing consultancy skills.

Digital Forensics:
Consult and understand the requirements of clients in relation to digital forensics engagements.
Conduct forensic acquisitions of computers, mobile devices, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems while maintaining proper and defensible chain of custody documentation.
Prepare electronically stored information for eDiscovery processing by performing data extraction from standard image formats to more complex data conversions.
Analyse digital evidence using industry-standard forensic tools, including but not limited to EnCase, Cellebrite, Magnet Axiom, Oxygen Forensics, and Kali Linux.
Prepare detailed forensic reports and expert-ready documentation.

eDiscovery:
Managing and delivering all aspects of eDiscovery projects, from initial scoping and data collection to processing, review, and production of electronic evidence.
Advising clients on best practices for data preservation, collection, and litigation readiness, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
Utilise industry-leading eDiscovery platforms and tools to support efficient document review, analysis, and reporting.
Coordinating with legal teams, IT departments, and external vendors to ensure seamless project delivery and timely completion of milestones.
Conducting data analysis, early case assessment, and assisting with the identification of key documents and custodians.
Drafting project documentation, including protocols, status updates, and final reports for clients and internal stakeholders.

Business development:
Take a proactive role in the company’s business development activities including attending marketing events and working with the marketing team.
Generate and execute opportunities for potential profile-raising activities across a variety of media.
Update the team on latest industry trends, technologies, and topics of discussion.
Ability to travel to other countries to meet the requirements of our local, regional and global clients.

Knowledge and experience

At least three to five years of experience, depending on entry level.

Extensive knowledge in computer (or IT) forensic and data analytics software within the context of conducting investigations.

Understanding and working knowledge of the eDiscovery workflow, spanning data collection through production.

Thorough understanding of standard evidence handling procedures.

General knowledge of fraud, corruption, and compliance issues.

Creative problem-solving skills to proactively address client needs.

Flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities during the course of investigations.

Excellent analytical, presentation and reporting skills.

Willingness and ability to travel, even at short notice.

English language skills. Mandarin is advantageous.

Qualifications and specialist skills

University degree level qualification in Information Technology, Computer Forensics, or relevant field.

3 to 5 years’ experience in Digital Forensics and/or eDiscovery with relevant certifications.

Cyber IR skills an advantage.

Relativity Certifications. Relativity Certified Administrator is advantageous.

Experience with Encase, FTK, Nuix, Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, and knowledge of Relativity.
