We are looking for a Senior Accountant who enjoys both the fundamentals of accounting and the opportunity to solve practical problems, improve processes, and contribute across a broad accounting function. This role offers exposure to cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, audit and tax support, accounting systems, and special projects.

The ideal candidate has already supported month-end close, prepared journal entries, completed balance sheet reconciliations, and maintained accurate accounting records in a corporate accounting environment. You will work closely with the Controller, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and continue broadening your accounting experience in a remote role with room to grow.

What You'll Do

  • Own assigned general ledger accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, completing balance sheet reconciliations,maintainingsupporting documentation, and researching reconciling items.
  • Support the monthly close process by completing assigned close tasks accurately,timely, and withappropriate documentationto support GAAP accounting.
  • Perform banking administration, including downloading bank statements, reconciling bank activity,maintainingbanking documentation, and supporting bank account administration.
  • Initiate domestic and international wire transfers, ACH payments, and vendor payments while ensuringappropriate approvalsand controls are followed.
  • Support cash forecasting by estimating expected payment timing for accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
  • Administer accounting tools and workflows, including corporate credit cards, Expensify, Bill.com,and related account administration.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed,U.S. government invoicing portalsubmissionsand new customerand vendoronboarding support.
  • Assistwith external audit and tax requests by preparing schedules, gathering support, organizing documentation, and helping resolve tax notices or information requests.
  • Identifyopportunities to improve processes, leverage technology, strengthen documentation, and increase efficiency across accounting workflows.
  • Approach unfamiliar issues by researching options, using available resources, asking targeted questions when needed, and following through to resolution withappropriate judgment.
  • Perform other accounting and finance projects as assigned.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree inaccountingor finance.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accountingor similar business environment.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles and how transactions flow through the general ledger.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, sorting/filtering, pivot tables, and organized data review.
  • Comfortable learningnew technologyand working across multiple business systems, portals, and accounting tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Resourceful problem-solving approach, including the ability to research issues, evaluate options, and make practical recommendations before escalating.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work, explain issues, and raise questions appropriately.
  • Must belocatedon the U.S. East Coast or able to consistently work East Coast business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuiteERP.
  • Experience with accountingtools such as Bill.com, Expensify, corporate card platforms,andbanking portals.
  • Experience in a software, SaaS, or technology company.
  • Experience working in a private equity-backed company or growth-oriented environment.
  • Experience supporting audit requests, tax notices, or compliance-related documentation.

This position is eligible for remote work. Priority consideration will be given to candidates based in the DMV (DC, MD, VA) area to support occasional in-person collaboration.
