BlackRainbow is looking for a Sales Engineer / Presales Consultant to support the growth of its NIMBUS investigation and case management platform across Corporate, Law Enforcement and Government markets.

What We Are Looking for:
The Sales Engineer sits at the centre of sales, product, and delivery, working closely with Account Executives, Product Managers, and customers to design, demonstrate and validate complex investigation workflows covering:
- Digital Forensics
- eDiscovery
- Insider Risk & Threat
- Incident Response
- Compliance & Governance
- Quality & Accreditation (UKAS, ISO, CJIS etc.)
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for translating real customer problems into compelling technical solutions, running high-impact demonstrations, and supporting customers through evaluation, proof-of-concept and procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
Presales & Deal Support
- Act as the technical lead in sales opportunities from early discovery through to contract signature.
- Run deep technical discovery with customers to understand investigation processes, governance needs, risks and integrations.
- Design and deliver tailored NIMBUS demonstrations aligned to real-world use cases.
- Support RFP / RFQ / tender responses, including technical questions, architecture, security and compliance.
- Lead proof-of-concepts and pilot projects, defining success criteria and validating outcomes.
Solution Design & Architecture
- Design end-to-end investigation workflows across:
- Digital Forensics
- eDiscovery
- Insider Risk
- Incident & Crisis Management
- Corporate & Law Enforcement investigations
- Advise on system architecture, deployment models and integrations (cloud, on-prem, hybrid).
- Work with Product and Engineering to shape new features driven by market demand.
Product & Market Enablement
- Act as a market expert for designated verticals (Corporate, Financial Services, LE/Gov).
- Maintain and evolve demo environments, use-case libraries and value propositions.
- Feed structured insight back to Product on:
- Buying drivers
- Competitive landscape
- Emerging risks and regulations
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Two years experience in Sales Engineering, Presales, Solutions Consulting or Technical Consulting in enterprise software.
- Strong understanding of investigations, forensics, eDiscovery, risk, compliance or case management.
- Proven ability to run:
- Technical discovery
- Product demonstrations
- Proof-of-concepts
- Excellent stakeholder communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work across multiple deals simultaneously.
- Comfortable presenting to:
- IT
- Operations
- Compliance
- Senior leadership
Desirable (Not Mandatory)
- Law Enforcement, Government, Financial Services or Regulated Enterprise experience.
- Knowledge of:
- UKAS / ISO / CJIS / GDPR
- Digital Forensics workflows
- Insider threat programs
- Experience with:
- APIs & integrations
- Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
- Security & data governance
- Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field or equivalent experience
