Position Overview:
As a Principal Solutions Architect for IT Infrastructure, you will shape the technical direction of Polaris by defining solution standards and designing systems that support the company’s business goals. You will translate complex requirements into scalable, reliable, and secure architectures while ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy. Working closely with architects, IT engineers, and senior stakeholders, you will help guide technology decisions and influence the long-term roadmap. This role offers the opportunity to make a broad impact by advancing Polaris’ technology landscape and driving enterprise-level architectural strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, document, and implement solution standards in partnership with technical teams
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints to ensure integration across global applications
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps based on current and future business needs
  • Develop and maintain technology-related policies and standards
  • Educate internal IT teams on standards, roadmaps, and new technologies
  • Align IT solutions with technology standards, roadmaps, and business objectives
  • Guide infrastructure and application teams to design, build, deploy and monitor scalable and reliable systems
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend applications, platforms, and infrastructure components for new solutions
  • Build and maintain relationships with key technology vendors to stay informed on trends and product direction
  • Monitor emerging technologies and recommend changes or new initiatives as appropriate
  • Represent Polaris as a primary technical contact internally and with external partners
  • Influence cross-functional teams by providing technical leadership, coaching, and knowledge sharing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive business or technology experience
  • Minimum 5 years of solution architecture experience with broad systems design, planning, and implementation, including cloud and enterprise services
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with hybrid environments and technologies such as core cloud computing and infrastructure services across major providers (AWS, Azure) including account and network design, compute and virtualization (VMware), network architecture, storage, infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform), security controls, load balancing, and private connectivity for hybrid architectures
  • Experience with global Microsoft Windows and Azure Active Directory environments, including Directory Services, user and role management, SSO, and related components
  • Experience architecting or supporting SAP RISE environments is strongly preferred
  • Experience with network technologies such as Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, routers, switches, wireless equipment, firewalls, Cisco ISE, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Roles, Licensing, Exchange Online, EOP, and E-Discovery
  • Experience communicating effectively with both technical and leadership audiences
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop technical team members

  • Hybrid working model (in-office/home). Schedule based on business need

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $155,000 to $197,000 per year. Individual salaries and placement within the range are determined by a range of factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay can fall anywhere within this range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
