About the Role

The Practice Support Relativity Engineer is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for providing specialized technical administration and support in the areas of eDiscovery and focusing on the back-end design, development, and deployment of systems within the Relativity platform, as well as designing API scripting between Relativity and other internal applications to reduce manual entry and improve consistency and accuracy. This role will be located in either our Global Services Office in downtown Los Angeles, Chicago office, or San Francisco office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as an escalation point and providing troubleshooting assistance, application support, and training to Practice Support Services (PSS) team members, attorneys, paralegals, staff, clients, and/or other third parties as needed
  • Managing communication and testing aspects of recurring Relativity security and system updates
  • Analyzing PSS working operations and seeking to improve efficiency through the design and deployment of automation
  • Developing new processes and procedures to eliminate or minimize downtime of applications and systems supported by PSS
  • Collaborating with the Lead Engineer, as well as other teams in the Global Technology Department, on rollouts, upgrades, testing, and scheduled system maintenance
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Display a sound understanding of technology as it applies in the legal field
  • Possess direct law firm, legal technology vendor, or corporate legal experience
  • Demonstrate effective project management and multitasking skills to manage multiple concurrent projects

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree; in lieu of degree, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience may be considered
  • Relativity Certified Administrator certification
  • Relativity Infrastructure Specialist certification, preferably
  • A minimum of three (3) years of legal technology and IT experience
