Overview

Nelson Mullins is seeking a Litigation Practice Assistant to join our Los Angeles office and provide essential support to paralegals and attorneys handling complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of substantive tasksβ€”both billable and non-billableβ€”while contributing to case strategy and ensuring seamless case management.

A Day in the Life

In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the Business and Distribution Litigation Team, You’ll assist with maintaining and monitoring court deadlines for assigned cases and support paralegals with daily tasks including, but not limited to, document organization, maintenance, and production. This position requires handling routine calls and correspondence with courts, outside counsel, and clients in a professional manner, as well as utilizing litigation software and firm systems to manage case files, deadlines, and document workflows efficiently. Flexibility is essential, as you may need to adapt to changing priorities and work overtime to meet business and client demands.

Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business demands is also expected. 

 

  • At least one year of hands-on litigation support experience in a law firm, including familiarity with case management and court filing processes.
  •  A two- or four-year degree and paralegal certificate are highly preferred, though relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • General understanding of the litigation life cycle and the role of a paralegal, or recent completion of a paralegal certification program.

 

Salary/ Wage Range - $55,000 - $62,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for merit-based raises and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans and paid time off.
