Your role

To provide arbitration matter management support, including:

  • Reviewing and redacting documents using eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity
  • Preparing bundles
  • Legal research
  • Paginating and annotating documents
  • Document management tasks such as indexing, organizing folders/data rooms, archiving
  • Assisting with witness interviews and trial and hearing preparation
  • Proofreading
  • Ensure consistent high quality of task execution and in the delivery of contentious legal services, including use of supporting technology e.g. legal research tools and discovery platforms
  • Anticipate and be reactive to changing client instructions and requirements
  • Monitor own performance, actively seek and act on feedback
  • UK based, but providing global advice, support
  • Expected to be on call 24/7 during busy periods

Your experience

  • 2:1 Degree (or equivalent)
  • LPC/SQE1/BPTC or Qualified Lawyer
  • 2+ years working as a paralegal or support lawyer for a Litigation team. 
  • Skilled in using MS applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on dispute matters and has a strong interest in litigation work. 
  • Adopts a team-orientated approach and prepared to assist clients and colleagues to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong office administration skills, including a working knowledge of MS office applications
  • Performs well under pressure
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Approachable and willing to learn new skills and take on responsibility
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good business acumen with sound understanding of legal market

Your part in the team

Our Paralegal & Support Lawyer capability is integrated within Alternative Legal Services (ALS) working seamlessly with the practice, ensuring efficient matter delivery from inception through to completion. The team deliver traditional paralegal support as well as process driven legal services, working seamlessly with our matter teams and other Alternative Legal Services teams to provide high quality, effective support.

The purpose of this role is to provide long term support to our Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations Group on a litigation matter and to successfully deliver work in accordance with instructions from the Practice.

The team has a global presence and contains high calibre individuals with extensive experience across a wide range of matter types. The team is friendly and collaborative and we value individuals who are willing to share their experience, suggest new approaches or jump in to assist.

Linklaters engages with a third-party provider for the provision of contractor and temporary staff. Therefore, upon acceptance of a temporary role at Linklaters, you will be engaged under a contract for services through our preferred third-party provider.
