Role Overview

Pogust Goodhead is seeking Brazilian a paralegal who Brazilian qualified to assist our Brazilian legal team in all aspects of civil litigation and Brazilian proceedings. The role will involve working closely with all members of the legal team and assisting with tasks including research; enquiry handling; client care; review of documents and evidence; case preparation; quantum assessment; data analysis, and general case management tasks.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to

  • Monitoring litigation enquiries; providing client care including liaising with clients (by phone and email)
  • Undertaking ad-hoc research projects as necessary
  • Analysing data and providing reports/summaries of findings
  • Managing the Group Register of claimants for the case
  • Liaising directly with clients in order to progress with their individual claims
  • Filing correspondence internally, and through E-Filing with the Court
  • Managing the litigation timetable and key diary dates for Associate Solicitor(s)
  • Civil litigation specific tasks including preparing documentation for substitutions; discontinuances; file closing; probate etc.
  • Disclosure review using the Relativity e-discovery platform
  • Drafting correspondence and memoranda
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel

 

About You

Essential

  • Strong communication skills, in person and writing
  • Experience in Brazilian collective law and Consumer law
  • Excellent analytical skills, including for legal issues presented in documents
  • Independent and proactive approach to work, but willing to ask for help when needed
  • Hard-working, resilient, highly organised, and flexible
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Respectful of client confidentiality
  • Comfortable working as part of a dynamic international team.

Desirable

  • Post-graduate qualification in private international; environmental; business and
  • human rights laws
  • Previous experience of using the Relativity e-disclosure platform
  • Previous experience of using Proclaim (or equivalent), case management system.
