About the Opportunity

Provides legal and administrative support to internal litigation team. Independently resolves routine and complex legal matters under the direct supervision of internal litigation counsel. 

What you'll get to do

  • Support internal litigation team in relation to, among other things, implementing and managing legal/litigation holds, undertaking and managing eDiscovery, litigation management and administrative tasks associated with supporting this area.
  • Participate in and manage certain other legal projects under supervision of internal litigation counsel.
  • Assist with certain administrative functions, including scheduling of meetings, file organization, and similar tasks.
  • Interact and communicate with members of the legal department, external counsel, and business clients.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in litigation.
  • Ability to understand legal implications of work performed.
  • Requires analysis and use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to successfully operate in an environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications, matter management systems and Power Point presentation, legal/litigation hold and eDiscovery software.  Strong interest in using these and other tools to drive increased efficiencies and results.
  • Proactive and innovative:  Seeks out opportunities to resolve problems, fill gaps and develop more efficient and effective methods to respond to the legal needs of the organization.
  • Responsive and Adaptable: Able to respond swiftly and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act with precision:  Attention to detail required. Demonstrated ability to be fast, accurate and self- managed. 
  • Paralegal / Legal Assistant certification required as applicable in the geography in which you are located.
  • Minimum 3 years paralegal or relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department in litigation.
  • Expertise in:
    • implementing and managing legal/litigation holds, preferably through use of Relativity or similar software.
    • identifying, collecting, managing, and producing electronically stored information for litigation.

Proficiency in English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with English-speaking stakeholders, co-workers, managers and/or clients across the world. Further, our back office support teams, including but not limited to Human Resources, are primarily English speaking.  Employees need to be able to communicate with these departments in English to appropriately administer their business relationship.  Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking co-workers, managers, stakeholders and/or clients, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.
