This team member will provide primary support to attorneys in the Legal Department in all aspects of administrative complaints and litigation, including coordination with internal departments and outside counsel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work with inside and outside counsel in coordination of defense of administrative complaints and litigation, including serving as liaison between internal and external teams.

Gather documents and respond to agency request to assist with managing and responding to administrative complaints.

Work with internal departments to assist with researching, collecting, and producing documents, reports, and information requested during the course of litigation.

Assist with reviewing, drafting, and finalizing responses to discovery requests.

Assist with coordinating contact with witnesses for interviews, depositions, or trial appearances.

Coordinate and issue document preservation (records hold) notices when claims and litigation arise and conduct related follow up to ensure compliance.

Coordinate execution of declarations, affidavits, verifications of discovery responses, settlement agreements, and other similar documents.

Correspond with inside counsel, various departments, outside counsel, and third parties.

Calendar/docket meetings, discovery, depositions, due dates/deadlines, projects, mediations, and trials in an accurate and efficient manner.

Maintain and update litigation spreadsheets and databases.

Organize case files.

Provide additional assistance within the Legal Department as needed or assigned.

Additional projects and all other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Certificate or degree in Paralegal Studies from an ABA approved program or prior equivalent experience

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to take initiative, set priorities, and meet deadlines

Superb attention to accuracy and detail

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to maintain confidentiality with discretion and strong sense of judgement

Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment

Desired:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree

2+ years of corporate legal or law firm experience

Experience handling e-Discovery

Experience working on employment (FLSA, Title VII, ADEA, ADA Title I, FMLA, GINA or related state laws), mass torts (Specifically asbestos-related litigation), ADA Title III, or commercial litigation matters

Experience responding to subpoenas/document requests and assisting in the defense of small claims cases
