POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an intellectually curious, knowledgeable motivated and technology-forward Paralegal to join the Legal Department and support its Privacy, Litigation, Commercial and Corporate Governance attorneys. The successful candidate will act as a multifunctional legal utility player.  Someone who can manage details, anticipate needs and improve processes. This role requires strong judgment, comfort with ambiguity, excellent organizational skills, and a demonstrated aptitude for learning and using AI‑enabled tools and modern legal technology to drive efficiency and insight.

The role partners with in-house attorneys, Legal Operations, Compliance and internal business stakeholders and external counsel to support litigation, commercial and corporate governance functions.  We use a hybrid model of 3 days (Tu-W-Th) in the office per week.  While we recognize the candidate may not have experience in all of these activities, having a depth of experience in one area and familiarity with others will provide an opportunity for this candidate to be successful.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Data Management and Administration:

  • Serve as an operational partner to Privacy Counsel and the Data Protection Officer. 
  • Administer and maintain the company’s cloud‑based privacy governance platform (OneTrust), including records of processing, DPIAs, assessments, and stakeholder workflows.
  • Administer Indivior’s internal data privacy governance committee and related processes.
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external privacy inquiries and track timelines and deliverables with polished reporting, trackers, dashboards, Power Point presentations, and concise narrative updates.
  • Monitor U.S. state, federal, and international privacy law developments and assist with internal updates and reporting.

Legal Operations, Systems & Process Improvement:

  • Support matter management, budgeting, invoice review, and e‑billing processes in partnership with Legal Operations.
  • Serve as a power user and administrator for legal technology platforms (matter management, e‑billing, legal hold, CLM, knowledge management).
  • Build and maintain trackers, dashboards, reports, and executive‑ready materials for Legal leadership.g
  • Support the development of training materials and facilitate employee education sessions related to privacy and legal systems.

SEC Reporting & Public Company Support

  • Support attorneys in the legal aspects of SEC reporting and disclosure processes, including document management, certifications, and coordination with Finance and external counsel.
  • Assist with maintenance of disclosure controls documentation and legal support for periodic reporting obligations.

Corporate Subsidiary Management & Governance

  • Assist with corporate governance and subsidiary management for U.S. and international entities, including entity records, officer/director tracking, and compliance calendars.
  • Support preparation, organization, and maintenance of board and committee materials, including agendas, resolutions, consents, and board minutes.
  • Maintain accurate corporate records in coordination with outside corporate service providers and internal stakeholders.

Litigation & e‑Discovery Support

  • Assist with e‑discovery workflows, including legal holds, document collection coordination, vendor management, document review organization, and quality control.
  • Maintain litigation trackers, calendars, key pleadings, discovery deadlines, deposition schedules, and internal reporting.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and vendors on discovery strategy, productions, privilege processes, and status updates.
  • Support design, growth, and management of litigation support resources, such as SharePoint sites and portals.

AI, Technology & Innovation Enablement

  • Use and continuously develop skills with AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, document summarization, search, automation).
  • Help design and maintain AI‑enabled workflows, prompt libraries, templates, and repeatable tools that increase efficiency and consistency across the Legal Department.
  • Identify opportunities where automation, AI, or process redesign can materially improve how legal work is delivered.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Legal research, as required and assigned
  • Support special projects and cross‑functional initiatives across Litigation, Corporate, Commercial, Privacy, Compliance, and Legal Operations as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Minimum three (5) years’ experience at a law firm or an in-house legal department.
  • Experience with privacy issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong computer and software program skills and proficient legal research skills and knowledge of digital platforms and AI-enabled software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize effectively, and drive progress across stakeholders.
  • Flexible, self-motivated team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with legal software.
  • Knowledge of e-discovery software a plus.
  • Experience managing corporate governance matters for US entities a plus.
  • Experience using legal software. Comfort learning other legal systems such as OneTrust, SAP, DocuSign, Exterro, Co-pilot, Westlaw, Relativity, Casepoint, Ironclad, or SimpleLegal,  or other new tools in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
