The O365 Exchange and Teams Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing Microsoft 365 communication and collaboration platforms. The position requires strong technical expertise in Microsoft 365 services, PowerShell automation, and identity management, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills to support organizational productivity and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, tests, documents and implements software according to specifications and industry best practices.

  • Converts functional specifications into technical specifications suitable for code development.

  • Manages PCG’s Microsoft Office 365 environment through day-to-day hands-on tasks

  • Create, configure, and maintain user mailboxes, shared mailboxes, and distribution groups

  • Oversee Teams service health, manage org-wide settings

  • Support migrations between on-premises Exchange and Exchange Online; manage hybrid configurations.

  • Follows coding and documentation standards. Participate in code review process.
  • Collaborates with End Users to Troubleshoot IT Questions and Generate Reports

  • Analyzes, reviews and alters systems to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

  • Consult with business leaders to develop and implement solutions the business needs

  • Configures, deploys and administer applications in Microsoft Office 365 Environment

  • Provides necessary knowledge transfer to support and services organizations

  • Continuously looks for ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency allowing us to provide a higher quality product in less time.

  • Provides technical assistance to less experienced team members.

Required Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of M365 applications including and not limited to Teams backend administration, Teams Voice, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related services.

  • Understanding and administration of Microsoft licensing models and subscription plans.

  • Architectural understanding of Microsoft Purview solutions (eDiscovery, Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, Retention).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and related security constructs.

  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills. Automate administrative tasks for Exchange and Teams.

  • Deep understanding to manage, support and administer Exchange Online, mail flow, connectors, routing, and related protocols.

  • Knowledge to handle Exchange integration with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)

  • Experience with standalone SMTP relays (preferably Windows IIS SMTP Server)

  • Understanding of mail authentication and authorization standards, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC enforcement.

  • Experience with Exchange monitoring and DMARC tools such as Valimail, and Abnormal.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to collaborate across IT, security, and compliance teams.

  • Clear communication for user support and policy enforcement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Systems major preferred and 4-6 years of experience

  • Performs work under minimal supervision.

  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

Working Conditions

  • Remote. May need to work outside regular work hours (8am-5pm CST) or weekends on emergent situations.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.  As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

Range: $91,200-$135,000
