Nelson Mullins, AmLaw 60 Firm, is seeking a Marketing Proposal Specialist to join our team. This Specialist will be a key member of the Firm’s business development team, playing an integral role in driving new business opportunities. This individual will partner closely with proposal professionals and pitch teams to manage all phases of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and high-impact client proposals across the Firm. In addition to supporting the development of compelling, client-focused materials, the Specialist will take ownership of maintaining proposal content, streamlining processes, and providing project support for the Firm’s proposal management software. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the Firm’s growth while collaborating with attorneys, marketing professionals, and business development leaders.
The Marketing Proposal Specialist supports all aspects of the proposal team’s administrative functions for RFPs, questionnaires, and team projects, including document management, calendar management, and task tracking/coordination. This individual prepares initial drafts of select proposals and provides writing, proofreading, and editing support as assigned. They help coordinate content projects, including serving as administrative support for content management, and support the Firm’s centralized proposal management and legal experience database systems, including coordinating the implementation of new software and tools as needed. The role also supports data tracking for reporting and analysis of key metrics regarding pitch and proposal preparation and respective win rates for Firm management. In addition, the Specialist interfaces and collaborates with key stakeholders, including attorneys, marketing and business development colleagues, and other administrative functions, while coordinating with the Firm’s departments and attorney practice groups to compile comprehensive and accurate content and marketing materials. Other project support may be assigned as needed.
A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of professional experience are required, with prior experience managing or coordinating discrete writing projects preferred and prior law firm experience considered a plus. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and detail oriented, a strong writer who can draft and synthesize content into compelling messages, and someone with excellent project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is required, while familiarity with Canva, Adobe, and Asana or other project management programs is a plus. Experience with RFP or grant application portals is preferred, and experience with AI is also a plus. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment, with the ability to work individually and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Flexibility to work overtime if needed and occasional travel may be required.
