Overview

IST Management is seeking a self-starter Mail/Shipping & Receiving- Site Manager to join the Oak Brook team! The Mail/Shipping & Receiving-Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing shipping/receiving on a dock setting, mailroom, and other support services on-site in a professional corporate environment. Ideal candidates will possess prior relevant experience in shipping & receiving and/or mail services, are customer focused, display high professionalism, and are ready to step into a team leadership role! Ideal backgrounds include: office services, mail, shipping & receiving. Prior pallet jack experience a plus.

Schedule: Monday-Friday

 

Hourly Compensation: $24.00 to $26.00 USD (DOE)

 

 

Responsibilities

The Mail/Shipping & Receiving- Site Manager will be responsible for managing staff members on-site, providing consistent excellent customer service, in addition to overseeing and executing on-site services provided to include: 

 

  • Shipping & Receiving- vendor coordination with major carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc); prepare shipments, create labels; receive shipments, utilize pallet jacks to move shipments/pallets, other tasks as assigned
  • Mailroom- process, scan, sort and deliver parcels and packages to appropriate client personnel, shipping/receiving, create labels for outgoing shipments, vendor coordination
  • Employee Relations- Prioritize work and deploy staff as required to ensure customer needs are met in regards to on-time delivery of services and quality of work, manage/train/coach employees to develop a work environment that promotes high motivation and customer satisfaction, ensure the proper and safe use of all equipment used by employees, deliver annual reviews, deliver corrective actions when necessary, schedule time off
  • Client Relationship Management- Maintain effective written and oral communications with both clients and employees, and accurately prepare and distribute management reports to the client in a timely and consistent manner
  • Account Management - Pro-actively and consistently develop new procedures to improve the operation of the site and to lower operating costs; maximize productivity through efficient use of standard operating procedures, and manage the budget and control expenses
  • Other tasks as assigned to support client and site needs

 

Qualifications

The Mail/Shipping & Receiving- Site Manager will have prior team lead or supervisor experience, and related experience in mail services and/or shipping & receiving services (required). Must have the ability to lead and effectively manage a team (required). Additional qualifications include:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must possess excellent communication abilities (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask with excellent attention to detail; ability to meet employer attendance policy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with computer basics is required
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work; High school diploma or GED is required
  • Willingness to cross-train for other job functions
  • Physical requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
    • Ability use a electronic pallet jack
    • Ability to walk and stand up for extended periods of time
