The Litigation Paralegal provides specialized litigation support to the Deputy General Counsel - Litigation and comprehensive legal administration support to the Legal Department. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of the litigation process, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will bring professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Litigation & Matter Management
- Serve as the first point of contact for litigation and matter management, including engagement, onboarding, and coordination of outside counsel.
- Manage case lifecycles from opening through closure, maintaining accurate matter data and documentation.
- Coordinate collection, review, and organization of documents and information needed to respond to claims, subpoenas, and records requests.
- Support responses to regulatory inquiries, claims, and investigations by gathering and providing relevant information.
- Issue and track litigation hold notices; coordinate and organize materials for e-discovery and production.
- Maintain and track all critical deadlines, including:
- Subpoena, records requests and claims
- Discovery deadlines and case management orders
- Mediation or arbitration dates and settlement dates
- Any other dates critical to litigation or regulatory compliance
Analysis & Reporting
- Track and report on litigation matters and trends, providing actionable insights to legal leadership and other stakeholders.
- Support accurate and timely reporting through data analysis and consistent recordkeeping.
Financial & Administrative Support
- Process invoices, settlement payments, and mediation/arbitration fees
- Coordinate travel arrangements, meeting logistics and monthly expense reports for attorneys
- Manage office supply procurement, mail administration, and other departmental operational needs.
Communication & Collaboration
- Function as a liaison between internal departments and outside counsel to ensure efficient communication and timely responses.
- Maintain professionalism and discretion in all correspondence, both internal and external.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in-house at a public company, large law firm, or other relevant professional experience
- Litigation experience required, including familiarity with discovery and e-discovery practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, litigation procedure, and court eFiling processes.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, legal research platforms, and legal matter management tools.
- Experience leveraging AI tools or analytics in legal workflows a plus.
