A Day in the Life:
The Litigation Paralegal will support Monster’s in-house litigation team with a wide range of projects pertaining to its litigation matters including, but not limited to, drafting correspondence, assisting with paper and electronic document collection, tracking matters, and reviewing and producing of documents, as well as scanning, copying, filing and organizing materials. The Litigation Paralegal will be an essential part of the litigation team and will be heavily relied upon by in-house counsel.
The Impact You'll Make:
- Coordinates information collection and data management.
- Assists with drafting letters, emails and any such correspondence as they pertain to litigation matters.
- Understands intermediate e-discovery and computer forensics concepts such as litigation holds,preservation of data and chain of custody.
- Coordinates automated litigation support projects through utilization of technology, including but not limited to, database management software (web or in-house) and Excel.
- Performs research (factual, legal, internet and other) to identify issues and relevant matters and prepares compilation of findings.
- Assists with department projects as needed and performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality of the company’s internal and personnel affairs and client information.
- Understands ethics of position including ethical rules regarding confidentiality, billing and client representation and advocacy.
- Collaborates effectively and professionally with clients and all levels of personnel, including attorneys, senior executives, coworkers and administrators.
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys and staff.
- Must be a proactive self-starter who understands the details within a much larger context.
- Capable of managing and working on large litigation-related projects.
- Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
- Able to work under tight deadlines, and handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritizing appropriately.
- Must deliver high quality work product and have the ability to follow up and follow through.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as be a team player, in a fast-paced environment
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certificate from and ABA accredited program.
- Minimum of 3-7 years solid litigation experience.
- Strong preference for candidates with in-house legal department experience, however exceptional candidates with only law firm experience will be considered.
- Combination of in-house and law firm experience a plus.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the litigation and discovery process.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
