In this role, you will work closely with attorneys and legal staff to deliver accurate and reliable litigation calendaring services for federal, state, and agency matters. You will follow established procedures, best practices, and workflows, while contributing to the departmentβs mission of providing best-in-class service to clients and mitigating risk to the firm.
As a Litigation Docketing Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys and legal staff by independently entering case information, activity, and deadlines into CompuLaw Vision, ensuring compliance with all department procedures, best practices, and workflows. You will review court documents, legal correspondence, and case team requests, respond to inquiries regarding deadlines and court rules, conduct jurisdictional research, and provide comprehensive summaries to case teams with oversight from the Senior Litigation Docketing Specialists and Manager as needed.

You will also perform quality reviews of work product according to internal procedures and escalate questions to senior docketing staff or the Litigation Docketing Manager as appropriate.
Additionally, you will provide suggestions to the Litigation Docketing Manager to help improve department procedures and workflow, stay informed of developments, procedures, and rules in the forums where the firm practices as well as general state and federal practices, and participate in projects as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a degree from an accredited college or university, a paralegal certificate, or equivalent education and experience. A minimum of two years of docketing experience in a law firm setting is required. Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic, with the ability to take direction without constant supervision. Prior experience computing deadlines in both federal and state courts is essential, with experience in CompuLaw Vision preferred, and familiarity with rules-based calendaring software such as Milana considered helpful.
Candidates should also have knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, legal procedures, terminology, and court rules in both federal and state courts. They must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively summarize findings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy. The ability to work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and adapt to a fluid, ever-changing environment is critical. Candidates must be service-oriented, able to work collaboratively in a team setting, and demonstrate strong proficiency in MS Office. Finally, the ability to work overtime when required is necessary.
